Soft reset of top tier items: PoE is losing one of its key unique features!

I think it will be hard to find sympathy among others here in the forum. It's abit like Bill Gates asking for help cause he lost some money. Nobody would care.

I like the new tiers, but i don't play standard.

I don't really get this. If you do not play a permanent league, then this change has no effect on you whatsoever. If both the damage provided by the affixes and the life of your oponents is scaled up then nothing changes. GGG could simply let the life of oponents stay the same as it is now and you would have the same thing.

The only league that is actually affected by this change is standard.

On the contrary, or do you say top tier is only relevant for standard? Because it is not. I like the change because i enjoy finding good rares.

Oh and i have owned mirrored items from 3 month leagues. They do exist you know.

Honestly, I dont see it as a soft reset, so much as a "hey, we had a gap on the path to 100, since we now have higher level zones, that means higher level items are dropping. This means we need a new tier."

Normally in WoW and other games with soft resets, there is a level cap increase. That isn't happening here. It's filling a gap that has been there that they have not been able to fill because of zone levels.

Good is relative. Since temp leasges reset (doh!) the absolute values of affixes are irrelevant. The only thing important is the relation between mob hp/damag and affix strenght. You can get the same effect by adding power to affixes or by reducing power of mobs.

In standard, however, good is relative to all the existing items. This change therefore has a huge impact on the value of items and gameplay in standard and none whatsoever on temp leagues.

However that bring us back to the point i made originally. There will be little sympathy for the rich. Wich is a good thing imo.

Can we agree on the following statement: "If the new affixes lead to you doing double dps and at the same time the life of the mobs is doubled, then you gained nothing?"

Not to happy about my glyph mark losing who knows how much value.

I don't - however the point is:

1) Chris specifically stated that they wouldn't be doing this - because it wrecks players hard work.
2) The only point is to get BIS/mirrored items - that is the only final goal at the moment in POE - so if I spent 3000 hours getting the currency to buy an item that can possibly be made a 2nd tier item, then what's the point?

Yeah: I can absolutely sympathize with players who are now experiencing this. It's actually bullshit.

Not really but alright. I've already explained why I feel this way.
