How to avoid frustration in PoE.

Thought id share the wisdom of the old-timer. This will apply to new and veteran PoE players alike. This is the attitude you are supposed to have if you dont want to be frustrated all the time.
Basic rules: 1. Only use basic crappy gear that you dont mind getting nerfed. Dont buy legacies! 2. Only level until it becomes too much of a hazzle, around 90. 3. Dont get too attached to your builds. They get nerfed the next patch. 4. Be casual as f*ck, dont be competitive, dont play too long sessions at a time. 5. Play for fun, dont be ambitious and never craft anything expensive! I have broken all these guidelines before i knew any better and suffered. Hope this was informative! On a serious note though, When you realise you can't compete you don't compete.

1-4 are simply corollaries of 5... play for fun and the rest take care of themselves.

You forgot;
1. Ignore the rampant performance issues. 2. Don't punch kitties when you can't use the awesome new item you finally got to drop because you ran out of some type of socket currency. 3. Watch netflix on second monitor while drudging through 12 acts on your way to endgame. 4. While partying be comfortable with fps crashing screen covering particle vomit that there's no slider for because... ? |

YMMV, but from what I've seen since arriving here in early 2012, the moment you really start treating PoE competitively, you're opening yourself up to so much pain, so much disappointment. You can add:
6.Invite a friends and all 12 acts will be easier to pass. For an Emperor to be just, an Emperor must be patient.

This is the patch with the leaast nerfs of all time and people still whine.

I will try. Long session sometimes do happen, but I am about as casual as they come. Died to Gravacius because I was petting my can and could not be bothered to reach for the flask buttons.
