Season Four, Event 111: 5 Hour Cutthroat Party

This league has Cutthroat and Hardcore enabled, when you die to enemies of any type you will be moved to Standard league.

A summary of hardcore Cutthroat rules:
  • This is a separate short-duration league that has its own stash (as usual). At the end of the event, characters and stashed items will be moved to Hardcore.
  • There's a PvP damage multiplier because players start with a lot more life than they do damage. This multiplier will be adjusted substantially based on feedback from this event and others.
  • Players are hostile by default to players who are not in their party.
  • You can ctrl+click on the entrance to an area to use the Instance Management screen to manually enter any other player's instance of an area.
  • Cut-throat instances can hold a maximum of 12 players.
  • This is a hardcore league. When you die, you will be moved to standard league, you lose the normal experience penalty for your difficulty plus 30% of your current level. You also drop all inventory and equipped items. Your flasks, skill gems (even ones in your inventory) and quest items are not dropped.
  • If you were killed by another player, your lost experience is split among their party.
  • If you attempt to abruptly leave the game in a non-town instance, you have to wait 5 seconds and are unable to move or use flasks.
  • The grace period of invulnerability upon entering an area is 20 seconds. This should start once the player is mostly done loading.
  • Non-partied players only show up on the map if they're nearby.
  • There are no notifications for players joining or leaving areas.
  • Portals cannot be used until they have been up for five seconds.
  • You cannot apply microtransaction effects to items in cut-throat. You may dance and have pets.

A 5 hour race with no top class prize? (Demigod's Stride)

A race where we could try to kill the other players of our class. Shame.

Putting together a party for this. We'll be on the public party list: Laughing Coffin.

(Would do teamspeak, but people will die and we'll recruit people throughout without teamspeak and it's not worth the effort). Are there plans for in-game party (mic) chat?

Talk about a pointlessly long race.

The race will be a graveyard within ~2 hours.
I don't get the "Death penalty awarded to slayer" rule. Instead of losing XP when you die, you just get moved to Standard League and out of the race. Then there's the "Harsh death experience penalty." So if you kill someone you...what? Gain 30% more XP? Get 30% less XP for the kill? Gain XP equal to the amount your victim would have lost in a "standard" death?
If they haven't implemented a level difference cap when zoning in this will be a waste of time for anyone who isn't a pro no lifer.

Hopefully these events are intended for the no lifer/streamers rather than to try and attract new players in (although new people will come in via the streams I guess).
""There's a PvP damage multiplier because players start with a lot more life than they do damage.""

How about dynamic damage multiplier? at start players have more life than damage, but after 10 minutes its pretty much a oneshot fest. where player with faster weapon, computer and internet wins.
LFG, I normally play ranger, and have gotten a demigod in a race before. I am looking for a solid team for the race and I have vent if no one else has a voice chat to use.
Looking for a solid racer, as in a top 20 caliber kind of guy. Serious players only please. My character name is Some__guy and I race with "R_W_B" and "Ilikemypantsmediumrare". message me with what you think you'll bring to the party. We have one position, and currently 2 dualists a shadow and possibly maurader and templar. I do not care what class you are.
I pass this event is a waste of time specially for us not Pro tier players. Also why 5hrs long kinda pointless specially when a lvl 20+ can just massacre lvl 10 players and camp them out.. not fun at all.
"When I close my eyes, I see this thing, a sign, I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign - it just blows up because the name is so powerful... It says, "Diamond Supporter."
