wait... what? no more Max Resists for Purity?

Merci dominus can hit me for 3k life with 77% light resist, both with his first of heaven and lightning ghost attacks.

So, yeah, I kinda miss +3% from purity.

this change does not make the game more fun, it only requires you to carry around 2 extra gems so you can activate fire aura for crema boss and lightning aura for piety... thats just pure shit.... makes no difference other than anoying players....

GGG made so many bad decission since 1.0.0 release thats really fucked up.

i loved the game before 1.0.0 but now its just a medicore game.

After release, i put off Purity because it turned into shit. I can spend 2 points to get elemental adaptation in my build, but i dont want to do so. Let them nerf useless stuff so it wil be even more useless... I dont care anymore.

I just wish that when they removed the +max resist from purity that they instead of adding the 3 new skill gems(ugg more skill gem swapping/never enough slots on hot bar for more skills,more disjointed game flow) instead added a +1% max resist per 150 points you have in a stat. So for example every 150 points in str the player gains +1% max fire resist,150 dex +1%max cold resist,and 150 int +1% max lightning resist.

This then would have added a little more build diversity through the skill tree and equipment and would have buffed all styles of game play not just grouping. It also would make those long 8-15(+10) stat only skill point paths on the skill tree a little more bearable. I believe it would also have lessened a little bit of those gear walls players start to run into in cruel and beyond.

I think people complain too much, they all want it handed to them. Still I also think this nerf hits the average and casual player the most as those don't get all the gear that fast. I'm self found so yes it hits me as well but I don't go cry in a corner and call my toons unplayable because of 2-3% max resists I lost.

The worst thing is that the red gem is fire (most useless), and yeah that hits most melee heavy characters which need cold and lightning resist a lot more...

I am surprised you do not know better Nephalim. I considered you more educated than to believe that this is such a bad thing, when any map boss generally only requires one elemental resist to be buffed above 75. Ele reflect was nerfed. They buffed map drops. I highly doubt many groups will coordinate auras to such a degree either, just for a couple of extra resist percent. Also, minus max maps are perfectly doable most of the time, with the exception of some bosses being particularly difficult (Crematorium for instance - hence don't roll minus max on this map).



12% damage mitigation will mean the difference between dying and not dying if you consider factors such as lag and desync over a long period of time. Can I fight crematorium boss with 75 resist instead of 77? Sure I can. Will I attempt to knowing the risk to reward ratio? Absolutely no and never.
-Max resist is another issue that essentially guarantees no one does the boss for that map.
Players who were using purity can not simply switch to a single ele resist aura due to missing cold and light resist.


Poe is heading down a terrible balance direction. A thread advocating for the nerf of reduced mana, another for multistrike and GGG performing consecutive nerfs to the same core aura. +2 max resist did not break the game like sporker did and yet the let the latter run rampant for half a year.

Lets look at likely nerf targets within the next 2-3 months:
-Multistrike nerf
-Spectral throw nerf
-Bringer of rain nerf
-Aegis aurora nerf
-elemental adaption removed from the game (this would honestly be the only thing that would make me want to just flat out leave the game)
-purity of 'x' +max resistances no longer benefits from aura effect and level 22 does not provide additional +1 max res. God knows GGG despises anyone having more than exactly 75 resists
-vaal pact / zealots oath interaction reworked
-Nerf on remaining high level unique items


meanwhile, melee is still not very good and grace/vitality are awful for their cost, well known rmt sumbags run free, and there is still no content for level 100 players.

Purity had already been nerfed to what, 1% increased max resistances? Who cares. Once the new recipe for prismatic sockets (confirmed) is discovered, this will end up being a buff, because you will be able to swap in any of the new 3 as needed to any slot, and get a much larger +max % when needed.

Besides, I carry saffells on the swap, so not that big of deal.
