would a trading house prevent RMT?
so this has probably been said but i was thinking...
(no more trading windows) but a trading house where everything being traded is monitored by ggg would this prevent RMT? would it be easy for ggg to monitor unrealistic amounts of orbs being traded daily? how much would this effect the game? " ggg can do a better job than blizzard imo if they really want to prevent rmt some sort of monitored trading system might just work. it might be alot of work but i think its worth it in the end. |

Blizzard has a monitored auction house for both real money and in game gold, and the staff to monitor it. It hasn't even put a dent into stopping third party sites.
They now plan to shut down the auction houses and account bind most high end items, and that still probably won't even slow down third party sites. Nothing GGG can do will stop it, best not to worry about it and never use those places. |

The only way to truly beat RMT, is by creating legit RMT that efficientely kills the competition from illegal RMT.
Gw2 did this perfectly. However, one can of course ask oneself if that cure is worse than the disease. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" That was the idea of the RMAH in D3, and if anything, that encouraged botting/etc. | |
" the best method to beat mortal fear is to shoot yourself? no. d3 trashing the auction house is the best example it doesn't work. what guild wars 2 has done perfectly is just cleverly hiding the real money aspect because they allow the ingame exchange of real money currency (gems) and ingame found only currency (gold). age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" I didn't play D3 (but I did enjoy Starcraft II). If the RMAH in d3 was unable to practically eliminate illegal RMT, it must have been due to taxes or other form of incovenience plaguing the RMAH. Of course botting is seperate from RMT and the RMAH may not even have affected the rate of botting. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" I agree with you in the sense that I believe that all forms of RMT shouldn't be allowed in any online RPG. However, I knows tons and tons of people playing EVE and GW2 disagrees with us. For them, the only problem was the illegal RMT. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.
