" I prefer my idea (obviously) of a cut-scene at the end of Dominus Normal telling you that you've won the game and then asking you if you wish to take your character into a different difficulty to occupy your time while the devs make new Normal content. |

Plenty of build diversity in this game. The character system is probably its strongest point.
Problem is you won't experience this on your first char if you just join the game and start playing. You need experience and or research to know what skill gems are available and when, how they interact, and you need to engage in trade, without getting scammed out of all your currency to get the gear to support it. So yeah, in this sense the game actually is "hardcore" - compared to others that just hand everything to you, here there is an initial learning curve to overcome before you can experience it to its fullest. " I agree and for me, 75+ maps and some map bosses are there to offer a challenge to decent builds with 50+ ex gear. I like to make fun chars from time to time. I pick a theme (e.g. Shadow, Bow, Ice), working out the general direction of the skill tree and just see how the char fares in each stage of the game. Using my Stash and a few chaos to fill gaps usually is enough to make these builds viable till around 73 maps although they are not as strong as cookie cutter stuff of course. I'm sure most of the stuff could be high map viable with good items and more polished builds. Sometimes I stop a char early for various reasons. Was that a waste of time? Probably not, I most likely had fun leveling and learned something new about a skill, passive, etc. |

" We read articles about people dying while playing world of warcraft or forgetting to feed their own child while it dies of starvation while playing second life. And they don't anticipate this in their own game? ... wut? .... srsly, wut? .... no, no, srsly, wut? Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right. |

" Bull. They made an online D2 clone and "didn't expect a bunch of no-life, do-anything-to-win arseholes to want to play it 24/7 as well"? That'd be pretty naive. Shop closed until further notice. Check out my Dominus musical tribute instead:

" Um what? Why are the people who enjoy PoE the most and play it the most suddenly "arseholes". That is completely uncalled for. I'm pretty sure GGG expected people to play the hell out of PoE and these so called "arseholes" are the exact people it was aimed at. PoE is supposed to be aimed at the most hardcore crowd. I'm not really agreeing that highend mapping is still such a huge issue but I'm not going to agree with your senseless insults. |

" It affects players as soon as they complete quests, but it has devastating impact for 89+ level ones. If we could compare time played in maps and time played before maps (before accessing the Lab), in overall player base. Sure, minority likes to reroll every week, new players level slowly, but the most time played is located in mapping time, when the Lab gets accessible. There lie (most of) people who spend a lot of time on this game, those are the most dedicated players (aside rerollers, but they are a huge minority). Those are the pack supporters and effect buyers who provide income and provide supporting through the very play. So no, I can't agree that those people are a minority. |
