OK, so a guy tries the game, links some gems, is only level 32 in Standard, doesn't find an upgrade with the same links, and therefore says "there is no build diversity", "it is limited by the socket system" ? Mmmmm ok.

It affects players as soon as they complete quests, but it has devastating impact for 89+ level ones.


You can progress to 80 by simply doing 66-68 maps which won't even require the use of transmuations. You can easily reach 74 maps if you just start alching at 70 maps. That will get you to high 80s. It's far more difficult in hardcore but there is a reason it's called "hardcore".

I don't really consider that a flaw in the game. It gets much worse at 89+, that's true but I'll repeat that those are a tiny minority. GGG wants it to take lots of effort to level beyond 90. I can agree on bosses needing droprate improvements to incentivize them though.

To the OP: Once you know how to play and once you've acquired some wealth, there is a lot build diversity. GGG shouldn't dumb down the game for people like you imo. Have fun with some other game.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
It's really surprising to me that so many people bitch about this game being to hard. If you don't like it, don't play it, and why bother to spend time reading and posting on the forums telling people who (who generally enjoy and play PoE) how bad it sucks? Yea, it's hard, that's what I like about it, my first toon was crap, I learned and made another because I liked the game play. This type of griping will get no changes from GGG because most of you sound like a bunch of spoiled kids, who can't form an even remotely respectable opinion. It just turns into who sucks more for their post.

A very good friend had a motto from one of his early karate instructors which is pretty applicable here: "your life (game in this case) doesn't suck, you suck."

Pay-to-level as a waste loads of currency to keep leveling efficiently/normally, it's a degenerate system and yes, monster level is the way to go, especially in a game that promotes itself as a hardcore, but doesn't let you do the hard content.

In a game like this, 2 most important things are gear and leveling.
A year to get to 100th level? Fine, but make it the same for everyone, don't make it luck dependent.

Can't even find a word to describe the second part.
I still have to understand what is the logic behind the OP : didn't find an upgrade with the links he wants, therefore the build diveristy is a joke because it is limited by the socket system. Mmmmmm...

Very well, some folks I ran diablo 2 with:
- one went into an insane asylum because he played the game for 5 months straight on 4 hours of sleep a day.
- 3 broke off their marriage
- So.. so many morbidly obese because of the game.

and I haven't even spoken about people who were even more addicted to an arpg.
