Damage Over Time
This has probably been discussed.
This is from patch notes 1.0.2 : "Geoneric modifiers t damage dealt will now apply to damage over time that your character causes. Damage over time is not spell damage, nor attack damage, so modifiers specific to those types will not apply. Non-specific "increased damage" modifiers will apply to damage over time. Type-specific modifiers will apply as well. For example, "increased fire damage" modifiers will apply to fire damage over time." For example, I iginite with my attack and deal burning damage. 1) "Increased elemental damage" modifiers increases my initial fire damage (therefore also increase burning damage, because burning damage is % initial fire damage dealt) AND increase burning damage again ? 2) Same for "Increased elemental damage with weapons" ? 3) Passive nodes "Damage over Time" increases whole burning damage after all calculations (multiplies) or...? This goes to gameplay help.
Also, burning damage im sure isnt affected by dot. Burning damage has burning damage nodes, while dot i think is for chaos and puncture and whatever else doesnt come to mind right now. |

" DoT also works with RF, Fire Trap, and Searing Bond. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game. - raics, 06.08.2016 Последняя редакция: JohnNamikaze#6516. Время: 22 февр. 2014 г., 15:06:28

" Burning damage is classified as "Fire Damage Over Time". Re: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/328132/filter-account-type/staff |

" Thanks for this info. What is your source btw? If this is all correct the only thing missing is how DoT passive nodes affect burning damage - is it additive or multiplicative? Also, how burning damage modifiers increase burning damage? |

" Anything that saids "increased" will be additive. "More" will be multiplicative. In this case, increased burning damage and increased damage over time will stack additively in the overall damage. Edit: Forgot to finish the rest of the statement. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game. - raics, 06.08.2016 Последняя редакция: JohnNamikaze#6516. Время: 23 февр. 2014 г., 03:14:47

OK, thanks, now I have clear picture.
Btw, what is untyped damage ? |
![]() |
" I think untyped damage is referred to as just increased damage. Increased damage works with everything with the exception of minion damage. It also stacks up additively with the other damage modifiers. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game. - raics, 06.08.2016 Последняя редакция: JohnNamikaze#6516. Время: 23 февр. 2014 г., 03:50:52
