There REALLY needs to be a change on this mod! I'm lvl85, and fracturing curse on hit->vulnerability crabs are insane. They caused me to constantly hit my immune to curse pots, and I still took substantial damage in between uses...I could only imagine on higher lvl map! Not only do the crabs turn into 3 more...but then those 3 turn into 3 ranged...which run in all directions before attacking. Just the thought of a CHANCE at getting those mobs again would cause me to reroll any map with this mod...unless some changes were made. Here are 3 different options I'd suggest:
I know. So far I had 1 reply which basically said it's not harder.. So it might be that a flicker strike build actually counters fractured, but I don't want to conclude things yet based on 1 post. So lets wait that out.
I had a pier map --> Enfeeble, temporal chains & Fractured.. Now most people don't do temporal chains because it takes too long. I don't mind putting some extra time in now and then. Untill, I was facing 3 summoners--> summoning those skeleton beasts that charge u. When I killed the summoners, there were 9! summoners summoning those beasts; there were round 15-20 of those beasts charging me ^^. I kill them within a sec mostly, but seeing I had enfeeble and temporal chains they were spawned faster than I could kill. Obviously, there are ways to counter this (dev totem and probably some other ways), but I'm just trying to say that this mod can be intensive at times. There was no way I could pass there efficiently. Now, I'm not going to rage about that, actually had a 'fun' time trying to think of a strategy to get past it. But considering it took me a couple of minutes just to get 1 pack, considering I was desyncing all over the place, considering I could literally die every second due to these facts, this was the first, and last, time I would do fractured (i.e., untill I ran an unidentified collonade and guess what..?).

1) have the fractured mobs reward 50%, or even 25%, of the xp of the parent mob
2) upgrade the quality substantially
3) or at LEAST let the fractured mobs add to souls on Vaal skills for people who use em
1. It would be great to have some kind of reward to this mod, but we have to think of balance as well. I'm pretty sure that GGG doesn't want to add OP mods like 'maze' used to be, so that literally every1 will reroll the maps untill they get this mod. On the other side, we also don't want mods that are so bad that every1 rerolls to remove the mod.
2. I believe ur talking about quantity. I've tested it out and the quantity seems to be +21%. I'm not sure if this is constant. I believe I had mobs fracturing into 3 mobs and after that fracturing into 4 mobs (not sure, if sum1 could confirm that would be nice). So it might be the case that quantity depends on the 'fracture' itself. I'll update this as a pro in the original post since I believe +21% is a high rewards in terms of map mods.
3. I'm not sure if this would fix anything.
Also, next to these things come the performance issues which are coming along. I'm currently lvling a 87 char in 72-72 maps. Going through them pretty quickly without any risk of dying. The only time I died was due to sick desync because 2 mobs were fracturing. The thing is..
We all hate dying because of desync, true. However, most of us just accept that its not something that can be fixed in the short term and just try to minimalize chances of dying due to desync. For instance, when I c 'suspicious' circumstances, I just pop potions and run back :). Where it gets ugly, I'm definately not running a fractured mod ever again, because it makes the desync go crazy. I'm playing this game softcore (basically because I started playing the game not too long ago and am still enjoying softcore optimally, despite the 'hardcore' players saying that the economy is saturated etc). I have played this game for a couple of months (made up an own build with my 1st char after a lot of research and it works!) and did not reach full endgame yet --> GREAT! (no sarcasm here, I really enjoy how hard it is to make progress and how it feels like an accomplishment after reaching a new lvl in the later game :)). However, when I feel really comfortable with the game and know all mechanics inside-out, I'll probably switch to hardcore as well and do a hardcore race. The thing is, if I'm already boycotting this mod because the risk of dying is so big (due to game mechanics AND game performance issues), just try to imagine what ppl playing hardcore will do with this mod? I would not run a 66 map with fractured if I was overgeared for 76 to be honest, definately not worth the risk of losing everything u have accomplished with ur char so far.

I got about 75% through the map when I got disconnected...couldn't get back in through the portals...they just poofed...well that sux huh.
From what I've heard so far there are 2 ways to not being able to enter fractured maps again:
1. U get dc'd, log back in, everytime u try to enter the portal again--> instant dc.. So the first dc basically tells u that u won't be able to run that map again.
2. When u leave a fractured map (vendoring some stuff or doing a trade or w/e) and u try to go back in u dc, then the cycle of point 1 seems to happen. <-- I'm not sure if it happens 100% of the time if u leave a fractured map, verification on this one would be nice as well.

As it is, I see no benefit from this mod due to the added clear time alone.
This might very much be the case and I agree with you. I'll try to stay objective though and reckon there are player which would like to do the mod (even if its only for the cool 100s of dead bodies after u clear everything). But when we've 'countered' the clear time, all other issues suddenly come up..
