Do you think GGG will recognize life vs ci issue in next expansion?
Though I follow Poe news, I haven't been able to catch a hint of changes affecting life situation in new expansion - has any of developers hinted at it?
I know Carl on one episode of poe podcast mentioned, though somewhat reluctantly, that ci "PROBABLY" is better than life. I think I know what a discrepancy is between players and GGG - GGG in their lab make a very specific life build, which is probably as good as CI, but their logical fallacy is that they assume that that EXACT specific build, or version of the build, makes life viable. You have to allow some room for player error and imperfection - not every build can be like my explosive arrow, with lightning coil, and still have 10 000 life, fortify and bunch of other mitigations. Will they try to address it? Yes. Will they fix it? No.
I do NOT think 3.0 will create an equilibrium, where the same amount of points invested into life + defenses vs the amount of point invested into ES will be equal in terms of power. I don't even know if it's their goal to make them balanced - I fear that it isn't. But to be fair, it's hard to create an equilibrium, a total balance, and at the same time keep the playstyles different. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Na, there is no such build. You can get around 235% Life from the tree. With Belly and all GG rolled gear, you max out at about 8.7k with a two hander. Add a shield and you can maybe eek out 8.9k. Like 9k if you have literally all perfectly rolled life on all your gear. With Kaom's you can get close to 10K (maybe like 8.8k). ES is a joke to get 9K. No shield, sort okay gear. With GG gear, you easily push 12K. And if you invested as much into ES as someone does into Life, you'll be upwards of about 17K. Just to put it into comparison. I mean math is math. It's easy to calculate the threshold for health I mean the values are all there. Deliver pain exquisite

Do you think players will recognize there already a billion life vs ci threads?

I wish GGG balanced life vs es, but also for players to recognize the actual issue.
There are countless threads with ideas like "armour should give +max res" or "buff all life" which would do nothing good for balance, because (heresy incoming!) life works comparable or better than ES most of the time. The problems are only with some one shot bs mechanics that hurt es too, just less often (volatiles, detonate dead) and some endgame bosses which deal spell non-phys damage, throwing armour and evasion into a bin. Ofc these bosses are most relevant goal for ppl who play the game long enough to bother going into forum. But it's only small fraction of game that only small fraction of playerbase eventually encounter. It's not existant most of the time, so any 'fix' that simply buffs life/armour/evasion will only further trivialise 99% of game that's not endgame bossing. Any suggestion to balance life vs es should ar least mention context where life doesn't work. Not a signature.

Not sure CI beeing superior to Life builds is a real issue. I mean, they can balance it differently, at the end if you play with the upper part of the tree, you will still play CI/LL, and for the bottom, left and even sometimes right sides, you will still play life.
After balance changes, life may be slightly better, CI could be slightly worse, but nothing will change at the end in term of build diversity. IGN TylordRampage
