Gating XP and progress behind RNG
" yes yes lvl 95 in docks such nice game
" or was it only for gems i don't remember i remember one of my gems leveled while stone hammering
" Price you pay if you don't want to manage your maps, or run them out when the map table goes cold. |

" Might be, but you do get XP from running docks and above for sure, even at level 99. |

" yes yes i know roll 150q => fuck off roll 30q => 5 maps what would you say before 2% XP cutoff...
Ambush map availability is where it should be at i feel.
lvl 78's sell for around 12 chaos i think. It is completely viable to have no maps drops in a map, but farm some lower level maps to get the chaos recipe going and still gaining a medium amount of xp in order to buy your way into maps upon a bad RNG streak. I feel level 100 is gated in ambush pretty good behind time investment and endurance as opposed to full blown out RNG. Just saying, even if you provide the community with a vendor that sells 78 maps for an allteration orb, many people still wont have the endurance to make it to 100. I think that is the correct way to gate lvl 100. Making it a feat of endurance. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" RNG is not an issue in RNG based system? :) You should put all your money in roulette then. Also, ability to level up in non maps is such a joke and such idiotic excuse, your attempt to back up current map system with it pathetic. Also, on standart ppl do not "manage" map pool, they just BUY 78 maps and burn them. Then buy more. That how you "manage" map pools. That how you buy pass difficulty to get to lvl 100 btw. So current system does not even cover "difficulty" to get to level 100. IGN: MsAnnoyance Последняя редакция: qquno#5118. Время: 8 мая 2014 г., 09:50:05

" Can I reach level 90 by farming Docks? Maybe. Is it a viable option for a sane person? No. That makes it a problem. PoE is the first game I have ever know to gate the leveling progress behind RNG (read: luck). Yet you "spit" on people who have a problem with it, or don't like it (with your last sentence). How arrogant is it possible to be? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" I think the whole point of all this debating on good/bad, RNG, etc. about PoE comes from our desires to see PoE blossom into a great arpg that dethrones the mighty Blizzard (everyone loves a good David and Goliath story). To that end GGG should not repeat the mistakes of D3 and other past failed arpg's. We, the diehard fans of PoE really and truly want this arpg to become great and are horrified that GGG is choosing to actively punish us by nerfing anything good (strongboxes will be nerfed to be ineffective come their move to Standard League, for example) for playing as that is how they perceive the way to make a hardcore game. Tough creatures, even tougher bosses, yes, this is all of the greater good of a hardcore PoE. Crafting gem starvation, grind forever in the hopes of a great drop one day or the far off illusion of a level 100 character is what the path of failed arpgs are made of. Sure, anyone can quit playing PoE at any time (millions have done so) but we that are still here see the potential in PoE and are actively posting in the hope that our "Who" voices will be heard and acknowledged. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" One apparently new player asked on Hege's stream, how do I build base into 70s from 6x-s. The answer was: you don't, you buy them |
