Mercenary Companion

I agree with this suggestion. I play almost everytime solo simply because I know nobody who plays this game.(and I have kind of a bad computer which starts to be very laggy in party) So if it's not about a corrupted area which I can't handle alone, I'll be playing solo. Mercenary companion would be an AWSOME addition for poeple like me.

The problem is we already have something of the same taste with the spell totem support gem/decoy totem/etc.., which basically allows you to summon/have a "friendly character" doing stuff for you. This stuff beeing tanking for you, buffing you, healing you, DPS the monster while YOU are tanking for him.

So in addition of that, having a NPC helping you might actually help you too much ( regarding this game's goal to have a below average difficulty). (Of course one should not forget we can more than 1 totem with the right passive skill, so even more "NPC" helping you survive!!)

This beeing said, even if I would really like this in POE, I'm note sure from a balancing side it's good for the game. Or it would need some adjustement with the totems as well, I mean, IMHO :-).

it's a game about exiles, just ask somebody in local chat if he want to walk the road with you.

if playing with a single additional player slows your fps, it would as well with a virtual mercenary.

Changing nothing in the game but adding this option, only in Cruel I would say. Normal is not a big deal you don't need them ( would be too OP )

Are those Mercenaries in the new background art? Are we finally getting Mercenaries?

Well i guess for the time being, you should use the gem which gives u 3 zombies that follow u around xD

Animated Guardians look ugly. I am talking about proper companions you can equip and skin with MTX.
