Cast on Melee Kill

I read few topics on internet about it and i just wanna clear this out:


- if it casts on melee kill, shouldn't it be activated whenever u do a kill with any kind of melee skill, independent of the skill u're using? I mean, if it says that it activates the supported gems when u do a melee kill, why should it be linked with the skill u're using? It just doesnt make sense to me, though it worked like Cast on Damage taken...the name needs a change

What name do you suggest that is sufficiently short and descriptive? The gem description is very explicit about how it functions, I don't think it's possible or necessary for the gem name to convey that information.

Becaue it clearly states

Supported Melee Attacks will Cast Supported Spells on Kill

Cast on Melee Skill Kill for example...the way it works now is bad, needing to waste minimum of 2 sockets for it to work, kinda wasteful... it should be independent from the skill u're using to do the kill, just my 2 cents.

yeah, working only with spells, too bad, should be working with other melee skills like Infernal Blow for example // just my train of thoughts

That does not seem any clearer to me, there's still no mention that it has to be a supported melee skill. And again, is it really that important for a gem name to completely describe its functions? That seems excessive, given that there's a gem description that does just that clearly displayed on every gem.

I agree that the gem as it stands is pretty terrible (although I hear people are managing to kind of make it work somehow?), but making it work like CwDT would be ferociously overpowered, I'm pretty sure. I personally feel like they just need to keep upping its damage bonus until it's worth using, although I'm sure some people would argue it already is.

About the name, even thou that's not really the main thing i've made this topic, i though it activates other gems function, not only limited to spells, like molten shell and others, but as you said, i guess it would be too overpowered. Seems like i just wanted to make it work like i pictured in my head...sorry for utterly unnecessary discussion.
