exalted orb is the loneliness item

Exalted orb was created to add one affix on rare item, later it has one more use, the master crafting.
The problem is that no one seems to use Exalted Orb anymore, it becomes a pure "currency", which only serves the purpose of trading, like sea shell used by ancient people in the economic book story. Exalted Orb it self has no more real value even though it actually did.

i said it is the loneliness simply because it stays longest in stash, even if you trade them they stay in others stash. In the end, if he gets lucky he will eventually meet a super rich guy who use it for endgame tear craft. exalted orb now is used by only a few people.

Still remember how i feel when i first 6l my body armor. Why we love this game, cause it's fun. It's fun because you might use thousands of fus and get nothing but somehow the other day you 6s with 2jew or get 3 blue sockets on a str-based armor or chance a unique from white item......Try new things is fun. wish exalted orb worth trying one day.

I am not super rich and I have used Exalts before. I will use them again. The only reason I use them so little is their value. Their value goes up if it is used (mastercrafting for example, one reason for the recent price increase) and goes down if noone uses them.

They are very valuable for crafting jewels in particular.

I have found 5 in 1000 hours of play, one seems to pop up every 200 hours or so.

Not enough to buy anything I really want/need, and have no gear they are worth using on. Maybe one day I will use them for something, until then they will stay in my stash.

I use them alot.

Folks who do not use exalted orbs in crafting are seriously missing out .

Now not to say you should toss them around like candy but thare use is a bit more complicated than most seem to think. The general People will say things like " Never craft with a exsulted unless you have a near GG gear " or something like " Useing a exalted orb is only for the super rich you are better off keeping it and buying something with it" Now both these statments can be true however they atempt to bypass RNG... and that make the PoE gods angry.

So why would a "normal" player who is not super rich and dose not play path of markets make use of a exalted orb ?

Well when used under the right conditions a exsulted orb has 1 of ( if not the BEST IN GAME ODDS ) of getting a roll that will not only pay for the orb used but offten make the user HUGE amounts of cash.

This is done by understanding the possible mods that can roll on gear and useing a exalted orb when your odds are best in your favor.

The "traditional" method of exalted crafting is thus , SPam alts/aug then regal , then exsualt 3 times . THIS IS THE METHOD ONLY THE SUPER RICH SHOULD USE For the normal player they should be using the EX the last 1 or MABEY 2 mods on a item , ususaly only the 6th mod . This alowes you to take a already good item and creat a BiS item for the low cost of 40 -60 chaos MUCH cheaper than a item of that value could be purched for .

I droped a belt in the dark shrine ladder , darn good belt had 2x 45 resist 89 life a insane 398 armour and a "ok" strength roll of 20 , on a runic sash belt. I prised it out , the value of said belt was around 1.5 - 2.5 ish EX , however after looking at the mods still avalible i learned that a Prefix was left to be rolled.

Already rolled both life and armour this leaves us with WED / reflect / Life flask / mana flask

So reflect and Mana flask are shit but both Life and WED is good , WED better than Life flask but life flask is not garbage. So this gives us a 2 out of 4 chance of getting the mod we want , Actualy not bad odds at all .

Important to note that getting a reflect roll will make it so the belt can not be master crafted with WED so geting a reflect roll will actualy de-value the belt . However fortune favors the bold and the odds are not to bad , not to bad at all , for Poe the odds are great so YOLO time.

I got a unleashed WED roll , then 3 divine orbs later i had the best belt on the market , i then sold for 14 exsulted.

Orginal items value 1.5 - 2.5 after crafting imput 1 EX 3x divine orbs ( letsd just call it cost of 2 ex ) i had a belt that was almost 10 x as expensive as what i started with , and the odds of getting that wher actualy very decent.

So what if i failed ? what if the belt did roll the epic 1-4 thorns damage , well it's still a nice belt , not BiS or nothing but darn close , still worth a EX , i would of sold the belt for 1 EX leaving me at a nutral cash flow state after dropping such a great belt, i would not "losse" cash really , if i left it alone and let some other player craft it i may have made .5 or 1 more ex but i have 0 chance of getting a BIS belt at that point, i would need to drop that belt 10 times to get to the same curency state that my crafting put me to .

Don't buy into this bullshit missinformation that is floting around this game when it comes to crafting , look into the mechaics of the game and makine informed choices based off information you learn ( not just taking some streamers word for it )

P.S. This is RNG you can fail be prepared for that, it hurts less if you have prepared for the posibility of failer , and makes winning the RNG game all the sweeter.

Anyways, you spent about 1-2 exalt, and the chances of hitting a (high) WED roll were like, mediocre. Not sure how rolls are calculated. Thing is, you can get lucky, but for that you have to, well, get lucky.

Getting lucky happens. I have a pretty GG chestpiece in the Darkshrine league which is 6linked cause I hit 6 links in the 4th fusing. But its luck.

However, dropping 5 exalted in 1000 hours is extremely low as well. I dropped a few more, and played less than 1000 hours I think. I already dropped three in the Darkshrines league, which also I know is quite a lot.

Nonsense. People who play the game use exalts. I don't trade at all and use exalts. Jewels get an exalt before they go in my tree. Items get an exalt if they're sure to be used by the character and have a spot open after crafting.

You play the game differently than I do, and in your game they're only currency. That doesn't make it true for everyone.

I'd like to use exalts for crafting but I've found only 3 or 4 since I started playing. Which was in the end of OB. So... no thanks, I'd better buy something with them.

Yha i would say you are right . It is a risk , Also i don't agree with the prise , but that's what it fetched , i most certenly would not pay that for it


I will say look at it from this view , If you are farming mid or high tier maps using the vendor recipys you are basicaly priniting fussings / chaos / regals at a pretty darn fast rate . Spending 40 - 60 chaos for a chance at someting truly epic is worth the risk , in a game like Poe even more so .

For crafting or trading, doesnt really matter. The time wasting for each drop and exalted is useless now.

Oh the answer is simple -

If i have a jewel with 3 properties, I can:

1. Spend an exalt and HOPE for a good extra stat

OR

2. Buy one with 4 stats for around the same amount of currency that an exalt worth, and many times even cheaper - This way you don't need to "hope" you get a good stat and also most of the times save money.
