I feel the same way you do, it's an extremely penalizing unique. But i guess it has to be because it can provide a 7-link and an 8-link in some rare cases.

The casting speed is obviously colored by our newly and improved opie op version of iron will :D

But truly, even after all of that i see some funky potential, it will shine in some set-ups that dedicated themselves to it.

How lame as it may sound, but mjollnir specs are going to have a field day with these? But i am more interested in the other "not so blatantly obvious" specs that are going to use them.

Some great gloves lately, changing wind, repentance :D lovely.

Mjolner builds won't care about the 300 int requirement.

Although having an INT requirement that high balances the item to a large degree, in my opinion, because you won't be able to get as much STR as you would be without having to invest in INT.

The only reasons why I might not use these gloves on my own Mjolner build:
No life
No res
Losing ~12% attackspeed

But the reason to use:
4 Link Mjolner

Ugh, these gloves are a monster.

16% Reduced spell damage is the lowest one I could find on the marketplace. (lower the better in this case)

Iron will grants 1% increase spell damage per 5 strength.

As a mjolner build and using a inertia (and some other unique jewel that converts int to strength), my witch has over 503 strength and can even get more.


The glove requirements are fine, I have well over 300 int and 300 strength (as the posters above said, mostly for mjolner builds).

So, if I have 503 strength, let's see how much extra spell damage the gloves will give.

503 / 5 = roughly 100% increased spell damage, minus the 16, we're now at a whopping 84% global spell damage increase for a glove slot. That's insane, especially when you're running a Crit 2x Arc or whatever Mjolner Build with vp.

Basically grab a nice attack speed jewel to make up for the loss of attack speed you get on your gloves (if you want) and obviously going to lose a bit of accuracy from the gloves and other resists, but it's either that or 84% more spell damage. They are insane.

Edit: I also find it hilarious how the people are selling the highest reduced spell damage %'s for more $ on poe.trade (when lower is better lmao).

Oops, I was going off of the Iron Will modifier here:

Which shows 1%... (the gem I guess).

I guess the actual Iron Will from the gloves only give 0.20% per 5 strength

so do 86 * 0.20 =

only roughly 17% increase spell damage then.

Nevermind then, gloves are horrible lol. Fuck that. Gloves should be 1% per 5 strength like the support gem (the same as the iron will gem modifier), or it's not worth it...


If you buy a 15% reduced spell damage Repentance glove and have 500 strength, you barely make any spell damage gains... What a tease
