POE fps and monitor refresh rate
Hello I have 2 monitors I currently use and one is a 144mhz refresh rate monitor and the second is 60mhz refresh rate.
I had thought that the 144mhz could provide up to 144 FPS in game while the 60mhz could provide at best 60 FPS but after using both, I can not tell the difference in FPS between either. Is my understanding of refresh rate vs FPS completely wrong or is PoE doing some sort of FPS magic im not aware of? IGN: Arlianth Check out my LA build: 1782214 Последняя редакция: Nephalim#2731. The thing is, 60Hz is about the perceivable boundary to the human eye. You don't generally get much visual difference with much above that.
144Hz is a bit overkill but can provide a little cleaner and another video as you look at motion. Even though the monitor can possibly do 144Hz, I personally wouldn't. My monitor is set at 75Hz (and 75FPS) and works great for me. Edit: you can still also get 300fps on a 60hz monitor, but there's no point in doing that for PoE. It's just a lot of undo strain on the GPU. Последняя редакция: Drakier#1520. Время: 19 дек. 2015 г., 00:11:57

" Okay. It looks like I was just seeing things. There is no difference btween 200 fps and 60 fps on the 60mhz monitor but a noticeable difference between 200 fps and 60 fps on the 144mhz monitor. The difference is definitely noticeable but after hours of poe grinding it would be hard to really notice. For some reason twilight strand outputs 300-500 FPS where most areas top out at 120. I'd use a frame-limiter set to your upper limit to not overwork the hardware.
Good luck! |
