FPS drops to 0 for 2-3 seconds at random times

At first I thought this was connection lag and was just trying to deal with it but then I spent the time looking at my connection through F1.

When these "spikes" happen. My frame time jumps to around 2400, my fps to 0 and my latency is the only thing that is stable. It then immediately rebounds to the usual 60.

I'm using a laptop with an nvidia geforce gtx 880m, drivers are up to date checked via the nvidia app an hour ago.

My laptop is set to max performance, the card is setup to be used with PoE.
Asus monitor says the card isn't getting hot at all.

Pack check says no corrupt files. Direct-x is up to date (I even have the SDK installed) I also have the latest visual C runtime and .NET
Anything else I'm missing?

I would really like to get this fixed as I play on hardcore and dying to this would suck.

I have a similar asus laptop with the same problem.


For me a quick fix was to chuck the game on an SSd drive rather then HDD if you have one.

I have been trying for ages to pinpoint the exact problem if it's not just the face value problem of a faulty HDD. I say this because i traded the laptop in when i noticed the problem. And they gave me a new one with the same problem!!.

Another tip is to get rid of all the asus pre installed programs. One of them may have a process fkin with your frames. Didnt work for me but i noticed other asus people had this fix work for them. Pm me for more info if you like amd pleeease pm me of you find another solution. Ty.

But it's only on PoE for me. This doesn't happen on other games.

I have the same freeze issue on 800*600

Same problem here with my Asus G75VW and PoE is the only game that does this.

having the same shitty problem, thing is, i want to level to 100 and that stupid lag nearly killed me, ffs shittie ass game =x

edit: fixed it by stopping and disabling windows search and superfetch (services.msc);;; also i've deleted the shader folder in the PoE diretory; my bet is on the superfetch though, anyone who has the problem, start with that and see if it fixes.
