Please Buff Violent Retaliation (Gladiator Ascendancy Node)

Current iteration
8% increased phys damage for each hit blocked recently
4% increased movement speed " "
80% increased physical damage if you blocked a hit from a unique enemy recently


Well seeing as my intention is to stand there and tank/block the movement speed is almost useless. Please change that to attack speed or maybe something more worthwhile like "100 life gained for each successful block".

Life gain on block would be a neat mechanic regardless.

I managed to get the counter to 42 in Perandus, with an Aegis Aurora build, but the duration is so short that the movement speed might as well not exist.

Also, you get the buff from a lot of fast hitting enemies, so most of that extra damage is wasted on enemies with shitty life, and will only trigger once or twice on the hard hitting big enemies, where it would really shine.

The 80% increased is nice...

Life gain on block would be a nifty mechanic regardless. Though I would think if it's a passive it should scale in some way, like x% of the blocked damage?

Not broken at all. like there is no aegis aurora already, the item which require any game feature to be balanced around it.

I agree, the node should be changed to something different, pve situation where character blocks more than 10 hits/sec is pretty rare, while on pvp arena 30 hits/sec is common occasion.

Well yea Aegis is stupid, I agree there lol, but that's a completely different mechanic.

The only time this becomes "insane" is you are in jungle valley boss fight or taking a steady stream of incinerate..

They could definitely nerf it down in pvp situations.

You would of course combine this with Aegis and Anvil
