Enhance Guilds = Increased Player Interaction
One of my few .. I really dont have many...but large complaints with PoE is the guild system. Right now its one of the worst ive experienced in a game. Its essentially just an extra stash and a tag. Theres zero incentive to be in one. Maybe some lab rushes...boss kills. Maybe a party group here or there. Outside of that its nothing.
I personally have always really valued guilds/clans in any game i play because what makes a game enjoyable other than the game itself is the people i experience it with. For the mos part thats just life. Relationships are key, and i feel that gets overlooked to a large degree in PoE. When will we see an overhaul? I think PoEs end game could be revolutionized if guilds were made more important or beneficial. For example, Masters that are guild locked and as Guild Members complete the masters quests together in a party, the rep increases. As the rep increases you get access to whatever crafting tool that all guild members will be anle to use. If your guild doesnt have it you use another guild. That builds more community...more incentive, more reputation for being a community involved guild. Or, guild uniques earned by guilds tjat all guild members can use that give xp bonuses or nice stat bonuses that would only help for leveling and alt and woulsnt affect end game progression. More guild ranks, a noticeboard to recruit, guild halls or hideouts. Maps that require a party of 2 or more guild members. Zones or side areas that have to be unlocked by guilds..etc. Now this content could be helpful but wouldnt break mechanics and progression speeds for the guts who love to play solo. Im a guild leader and basically have lost all reason to recruit because theres zero incentive to play together. I think something could be done to really emphasize guilds and boost the community. Just my pov. Let's discuss in a kind and mature fashion Last bumped9 июл. 2016 г., 09:42:44

I've always considered this a single player game that tolerates people playing together and trading items and such. There's no group oriented content what so ever. Everything can be done by a solo player. So, it's only natural that guild functions are kind of lackluster.

I could get behind some guild oriented ideas.
Guild hideouts, guild insignias, guild master quests, etc. You just can't go too crazy with it. Like your idea of maps gated behind being in a guild, that juat won't fly. |

I agree with DrazyHaze but there are few things to consider first.
Guilds in all games are increasing player retention and build a community more active but as Shagsbeard said there arn't much multiplayer oriented content in Path of Exile. Depending of Changes Chris is planning for endgame it could literally change ( or not ) and i welcome any effort to introdduce some more multiplayer content but it can't happen now. - Performances doesn't allow for an enjoyable experience in group. - Playing solo is enough rewarding / grouping doesn't add much than that at the end ( except for 90+ rotations if you plan to go 100 ). - There arn't much content for guilds except sharing masters / items etc ... - The guild actual system is too limited for a decent management - Large part of players are not willing to share anything. They want to trade everything. If those points are worked a bit maybe guilds will worth it :) That's how i see things i may be wrong. Hf :) Последняя редакция: Heli0nix#0378. I agree with the idea of improving the guild system, but I disagree heavily with the suggestions you've presented.
In no way should being in a guild provide any in game benefit in terms of character power or progression, else it then becomes a virtual necessity to avoid being underpowered. Neither should any content be gated behind being in a guild, such as maps or masters. Things that would be gained by guilds should be purely cosmetic. Things like a guild tabard that can be applied over your chest mtx. Guild achievements. Pets unlocked through Guild challenges etc. Things like stat boosts, xp boosts etc have no place in a game like PoE in my opinion. |

It's fine, we all get plenty of player interactions via trading.
The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.
Welcome to PoE. |

enchantments should be like slot machines
every lab you get 1 coin that you can hoard and use bulk of them at once ![]() "Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy? There is no such thing, and never has been. And the reason
is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms." |

Its definitely a tricky area that would require a delicate approach. I think the masters could be a cosmetic master instead of a crafting or stat imcreasing type of master. So then the maps still give you exp like any other map however the master has zero chance to spawn if you are alone or in a party without a guildie.
And yes, performance sucks in groups. Even when we're running non particle effectvheavy builds. Damn caustic arrow and dual strike even make you lag lol |

without guild member, there is no guild.
how do you want to do quests without any person online? poe is a come and go game. and many people just play for theirself. |
