Blade Vortex: Occultist, Assassin, Pathfinder or Scion?

Guys,

i'm thinking about this build with Blade vortex, is pretty strong, but idk what class is better?

Could you help me? What pros/cons of each of these Ascendancy?

Assasin. With the amount of hits per second that BV provides, Ustable Infusion allows you to easily and reliably sustain power charges as long as your crit chance does not exceed 90%. Deadly Infusion means that you dont rly need much crit chance from the tree and can focus on crit multi and survivability. Then you can either go poison with Toxic Delivery, or get yourself a free culling strike.

Occultists Forbidden Power is also a nice power charges generating mechanism, but if u want to go crit u pick assasin, period. Pathfinder is nice in general, but doesnt offer anything good for BV specificly. I dont know why anybody would pick scion.
Well after running all of these with the exception of Scion heres some things to keep in mind because your decision is ultimately going to depend on what you are looking for out of the build. Scion BTW is probably going to be the least attractive option IMO anyway.

So this league i done Assassin and this version is very nice for a Life Based version. The crit you will get in very nice and the Crit multi you will get once you done uber lab and have 8 points to use really gives the build some incredible damage scaling from multi. youll want to go VP Leech for this version even though i did have alot of fun and success with MOM for a while with COD+POH. It began to fall off though once i was doing the Lab Izaro because he hits so hard the leech for your mana struggles a bit. But otherwise this made the build Super Tanky otherwise doing this. And this setup also gives you the option of using Blade Fall in the build as well for those boss's/enemies that are super dangerous for a melee range build like BV.

Now Occultist is going to be best if you want to do ES base CI/LL or something to that effect. That Ascendancy node that gives .5% ES regen per enemy killed is absolutely insane and will make you crazy tanky when clearing maps. This version is also a good one if you want to stack on multiple curses since you can get +1 from your ascendancy as well as the +1 from the tree since youll be rather close to it. So its easy 3 curses. with the option to stack up to 5-7 if you would so choose but that wouldn't really be nessisary unless you wanted to be a curse support or something but otherwise 3 should be good enough and would cover a great deal of defenses with things like Temp Chains, Enfeeble, Warlord's Mark, (Which i highly recommend you run with BV no matter which you decide.) Poachers mark if you want free Frenzy charges, And of course assassins mark for free PCs even thought you should be able to get free PCs from the ascendancy itself i believe if im not mistaken. (have not played this one in a bit was my first) Pretty flexible in other words if curses is something you want to focus on and want to go with a very high ES pool.

And finally we have Pathfinder. Now this class for me personally is one of my favorites because i enjoy flask builds and as long as you dont mind managing flasks (Or spamming them in this case since you will most likely go Crit BV with Surgeons mods on all flasks Depending on flasks choices ofcourse) This build holds some nice options as well but through means of flasks. Keep in mind you will still need to travel to the Witch area and get those flask nodes to maximize this option but its well worth it IMO. You can easily cap out block with rumi's and things like TOH and Atziri flask REALLY get powerful with this class. This class also can do well with either Life Based or ES/CI/LL. So theres a ton of options available for flexibility there as well.

Some other things to keep in mind no matter what you decide if WM is pretty much going to be nessisary because of BV being very mana hungry but this also will give free leech and make possible for you to run things like no regen maps. Vaal Clarity is nice when used with Vaal Haste for boss fights so this is something you may want to include in your gem links. VP with WM is very nice and will cover most all your leech for clearing and give you the option to swap in Leech Gem from Inc Duration if you so choose for even more leech on tough boss's. BUT this build also needs Duration as well as lots of cast speed. Now the duration gem works just fine but its a nice QOL thing to have at least one set of duration nodes from the tree if possible. Both set are even more helpful but not nessisary especially once all your gems are lvled and most especially once they have quality. Cast speed will be pretty much covered from Spell Echo and Faster Casting but anything you get from the tree is nice as well and could afford you to drop faster casting later for another damage gem or Leech or whatever. The skill gives lots of options as well as running a second BV for cursing with COH to save on Blasphemy mana res. The biggest drawbacks ive found with BV is Lightning Thorns which will almost immediately destroy you, Phys Reflect maps can NOT be done, Curse Immune maps since we depend so heavily on WM but even that can be done as well with careful play so pretty much any map mod can be done with this build for the most part with the exception of Phys reflect. Reflect is pretty easily handled by a CODT+IC+Inc Duration setup when you run into a rare with this since you will proc it almost immediately when you hit the mob and be immune long enough to finish the mob. For ele reflect maps simply turn of any elemental auras you might be running such as hatred or HOA otherwise reflect rares should not pose much of an issue either.

Hope this helps you a bit if you have any other questions of want to see some of mine i have of these versions just message me or send and request and ill be glad to help you out in game as well. I should be on after i finish grilling this afternoon for a few hours before bed. I certainly will have the time since im about to hit 36/40 (My Personal Goal) for the league and will be spending the remainder of the league testing things on my RF, Inquisitor, and possibly Jugger or another Assassin builds.
Good Luck! \m/

The way I see it is that with blade vortex you will have all the dps you need without ascendancy. So I would personally go for an ascendancy that focuses more on defense. Keep in mind you are playing a pseudo-melee build. Personally i would choose pathfinder. You don't really even need any of the expensive unique flasks to make it tanky. You can easily have almost 100% uptime on curse, shock and freeze immunity with basalt flask up and higher max res.
Ty guys! Nice help!!!

Pathfinder i saw is a cheaper version, but its possible to reach good amount of dmg? Its possbile low life?

Occultist is nice with lots of curses (2-3 i mean), and i have shavronne, the ascendancy skips skyforth (but it's still very good to use), so its easy to be low life with this = good amount of dmg

I played scion last league, mainly because it was easier to reach the duration nodes, but after the nerf ascendant looks like garbage.

Go with occultist, it is the cheapest, most efficient way to play a lowllife crit BV build at the moment, mainly because you get a free curse and u dont need to use assasins mark, so that opens up basically more cursing options for you.

Warlords + enfeeble + temp chains is a really def orianted triplecurse setup, but even if you only want to run 2 it is fine with warlords and enfeeble.

You also can get void beacon after the uebr lab, or wicked ward, but as things stand, the best rings for you are 2
at the moment, combine that with force shaper and atziri flask, you have a shitton on chaos dmg, but even without that, if you stack 50 blades before bosses, (easy with vaal clarity) you will still oneshot most bosses.
I main a low life bv assassin. I would recommend blastingcaps lawnmower build in the witch forums. Most powerful low life bv there is imo provided you can afford it.

Has guides for witch/ranger/scion and shadow.

My Pathfinder Version is my LL version so yeah it works and pretty well i might add. Vinktars while not completely nessisary is AMAZING on this version. Its a very strong version as well with all the flask buffs you get but again its a very flask dependant build which some people do not enjoy. But it makes Unique flasks so powerful that you basically have entire build enabling possibilities in bottles.

Occultist is gonna be the easiest bet for LL and again you get easy curses as well. I think youll be able to scale the most ES on this one. You can also go without skyforth this way even though i dont use skyforth on my Pathfinder either and i get by fine with the Stun affix on one of my flasks. Even though Skyforth would be very nice QOL thing for me to have on that build.

Any version you pick from what ive described is going to have the damage if you stack on Spell, Spell Crit, and Physical Damage from the tree and on gear. also Cast speed as well since the more stacks you have the more damage you do. This is also why Duration is very important to keep those stacks as long as possible.
Assassin ive found gives me the most damage but thats mainly because of all the crit multi you are able to get from that one. And even with Controlled Destruction you will still easily cap out crit on the spell. And the ascendancy itself with that 10% for PC on non crit still keeps you topped off if you clear quickly which should also be no issue.

Like i said before its really all about what you want out of the build.. If you want curses, ES or Life, Crazy Flask Str, LL or CI, thats all that really makes any difference in which ascendancy you pick. They are all good but each will do certain things better. The damage is there no matter which way you go fortunately.
