Disconnected from patching server before patching completed. Try again

I've been really excited for the 3.0 patch but also completely frustrated. When the patch came, i tried to update my POE but i couldn't. It was stuck at checking resources forever. After a few hours, it was still checking resources so what i did was uninstall the game and re-download it. However, for some reason, i could not get through checking resources, again. But now, it gives me 2 errors. Either 'Bad allocation' or 'Disconnected from patching server before patching complete'. I've searched up and tried just about everything and nothing works. Either that or i'm so unlucky with my searches that I've missed the right method to fix this. Could anyone please help? I really want to play the new expansion but unfortunately cannot. Some suggestions on a fix would be really great. Thank you in advance.
