Suggesting some Ascendant changes
Today a new Ascendant skill tree has been released! Yay!
On the other hand the structure of the tree hasn't really changed which is a bit underwhelming. As I understand you're trying to balance 3 main features with 8 ascendancy points (which is a bit harder than other ascendancies): 1. First ascendancy. 2. Second ascendancy. 3. Starting skill tree from one of the other classes. The biggest complaint about the scion ascendancy tree seems to be that "you get nothing when you finish first lab". So this is the new ascendant tree: ![]() Pros: 1. You get the 3 main features 2. Points from second, third and fourth labyrinths are rewarding Cons: 1. Points from first labyrinth are underwhelming Proposed tree (rough sketch, please don't judge me): ![]() Starting constraints: 1. You can only select 1 of the 6 branches. Pros: 1. You get the 3 main features. 2. You can decide which labyrinth feels less rewarding: second or third. 3. First and fourth one are always rewarding. Cons: 1. Needs some extra coding for the extra conditions. 2. Not as straightforward. 3. I don't know some secret behind the original tree, so I just ruined everything. Basically its the same tree with the same nodes but the most important thing it gives an illusion of choice. In the end the choice doesn't really matter. The only balance changes it does is that it shifts a bit of power to earlier stages of the game when you're completing first labyrinth. Ascend beyond... they cant make the first lab rewarding for scion ,if they dont want to allow taking 4 classes

Of course they can. I just gave an example where it's possible. You just prevent players from picking nodes from more than 2 ascendancy branches. It's the same case where you just can't take all 3 nodes of the witch ascendancy, because there is a constraint protecting from doing it.

Disappointed with the revamp. Yes, because Scion doesn't really become an Ascendant after the normal lab. While any other class can choose an ascendancy skill and build around it, Scion just receives a passive skill point and some attributes.
Looks like most people like the new Ascendant. Here's just an another suggestion how to buff her even more with a quick fix. Ok. Keep two revamped ascendancy class nodes as a reward for Lab completion. But, please, let the bloody Ascendant get any of it at the first lab. And when she's able to allocate from an other Starting Point increase the ascendancy skill bonuses from this branch by 50%(or in the long run add 2 additional thematic affixes to the node). Example: Normal Lab - Scion goes Elementalist. That's all. She receives the 10% penetration and everything else in the list. Cruel Lab - 2 ascendancy skillpoints. Can't allocate from an other Starting Point or take an other ascendancy node. Generally swap between Cruel and Normal Lab rewards. Merc Lab - Now she can allocate or take an ascendancy node. Let's say she takes Inquisitor. +6% penetration and everything. Uber Lab - She allocates from Witch's Starting Point. Bonuses received from the Elementalist node are increased by 50%. She gets 15% penetration and everything instead of the 10% and so. But the Inquisitor node is still 6%. After the Lab completion we could have an Ascendant with 21%(15%+6%) elemental penetration and some other cute bonuses. And that would be a bit more comparable to 4pointers of other classes.
