how to spread elder influence correctly?

whenever i do a shaper influenced map that's connected to elder influence that one becomes elder too and then... 1 or 2 more maps turn from elder to shaper influence on the other side of the atlas removing elder influence... it's like back and forth so i can't really expand the elder influence on the atlas...

tried it for like 15 maps and the same happens every time
last time i even did a shaper influenced map and that one didn't turn into elder but i lost 2 other elder influenced maps too soo wtf is going on

i know that... i currently have 7 maps influenced with elder
all i want is spawn guardians and elder on the atlas

Hello there.
When it comes to expanding your elder influence, the worst threat is shaper cuts, and when that happens, only the biggest section of your influence will remain.
But there are ways to prevent them, by 1) carefully checking your elder influence after each completed map, and 2) not hesitating to control additional maps so that the shaper never has the possibility to cut your influence in 1 turn.
When a shaper map you just completed does not get elder-influenced, that's because it was part of a cut section, and the cut could have occured far away.

There must be some major bug with extending maps with elder influence. Often completing a shaped map adjacent to the elder area or a shaper stronghold breaks the elder ring for no reason.

There is no bug, only lack of attention and impatience
