Having issue with blashpemy, please help

I got links, colors, requirements. but when I try to socket the curse w/ blasphemy it greys out the red socket. I can't figure out why it's not letting me equip the gem

Did you reserve already more then 65% mana?
Because the blasphemy will eat another 35%. |

 It would still let me socket it, even if not activate the ability if that were the case though - right? |

Yeah you should be able to socket it.
Thats weird and I have zero clue whats the issue here |

I'm reserving 95% of my hp, but the blood magic links are in an entirely different item.

uhhhh, make sure you check your despair gem again.
Wiki says its a BLUE GEM. |

its greyed out because you're not selecting a red gem. its why the other red socket is also greyed out
|
