Curse on Hit Warlord's Mark ring not applying curse with Armageddon Brand?
I don't understand why this is happening. I have an Elder ring with CoH Warlord's Mark on hit. Armageddon Brand hits, so why does it not apply the curse?

Aren't these skills like totems as in "you don't hit, the brand does"?

maybe it is because it says curse on hit while brands are spell like not hitting

Let's take a closer look at the wording:
" In fact the initial cast doesn't hit. You place that brand, that brand attaches itself to an enemy, and then it starts activating itself causing hits. If you link a curse on hit onto the brand, this would work, but not the ring, since its not you producing the hits. same goes for all other summons or indirect casts like totems, zombies or traps. To make use of the Ring you need something that makes you causing hits. CwDT could come in handy here. no need to level it, or the linked spells, since you just care about the produced hits, not the damge. Blade Fall should work well, since it covers a good area. You say Prison Cell, I hear 'Holiday'.

"Okay, but the initial cast of a fireball doesn't hit either, it just creates the fireball, which then goes on to hit things itself. If this is the intended limitation, and brands are indeed counted as separate objects with their own hits that aren't yours, then the ring should probably say "when you hit" rather than just "on hit". And if that is the intended behaviour, I think there's some other things that should be clarified too. Because Herald of Thunder's "if you kill a shocked enemy" is working just fine on my Storm Brand character, which it shouldn't be if the brand isn't supposed to be "you". My impression was that brands are intended to be "your hits" like any other 'normal' spell, to help differentiate them from traps. |

While using armageddon brand you produce an entity and this entity produces projectiles that hit (like a totem would do). This is how i understand this skill. But if herald of thunder works, I understand why you are confused (even if the herald should spread your curse). I've just checked wiki again, its a little more precise about how herald of thunder works. " As far as I understand this, every skill that gets additional lightning damage by the herald gets marked when it becomes shocked. then if it dies and the marker is still present, it triggers the heralds secondary effect. To make this clear, I haven't used the new brands til now. So I just try to explain the results with the information given by you and the wiki. Since we are talking about a program, there is always some (weird) logic behind the behaviour. You say Prison Cell, I hear 'Holiday'.

" Some forms of Curse on Hit does work with totems like the glove corruptions. This is worded similarly so it should work. I made a totem build a while back with Asenaths Touch with ele weakness on hit corruption. The totems applied both curses, temp chains and ele weakness, on hit.
