Thoughts on branching off some uniques into a new gear tier?
So ive been thinking about unique drops for a while. Uniques in POE seem to have two tiers, one is levelling trash, the other is high end build specific stuff thats valuable.
I think it would be good if GGG branched off the two. Im just never excited to see a unique drop, because i know its usually going to be some levelling trash. Im mostly excited for currency and map drops but never gear. I was wondering what issues splitting off the leveling trash into its own gear type would cause, or if anyone else feels the same way about wanting a class of gear that excites you when you see it drop. Call it legendary, or exalted gear, or something...i mean its all unique gear i guess but throwing in a bunch of vendor trash with your highest tier of gear sort of sucks the excitement out of it. I feel like GGG could simply re-tier a few items, currencies/uniques/flasks..even armor pieces like two tone and gloves with attack stats...and almost completely remove the need for a loot filter to put a sound and border on gear drops, doing this with uniques i feel would make the game a bit more exciting. Ive always disliked the lowbie levelling gear to be frank, sort of insulting to get a vendor trash item good for the beach on a new roll when doing high tier content ect. just for try, for see and for know Last bumped19 янв. 2019 г., 14:01:25

Just update your loot filter to make the better uniques more dramatic and obvious when they drop.
Neversink already does this to some degree, but you can change the sound, color, Light beam, ect.. to account for those chase uniques. I dont think GGG has to do anything official, especially regarding desired drops.(which is subjective) "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

I think fated uniques was GGGs answer to this, and to be fair some fated/temple upgraded uniques are very good, while their base versions are not (redbeak to dreadbeak gets a solid look in here)

They should do something with fated uniques to make them look... fated.
