Language Pack

Is there a way that I can unpack the client and get the text files of the game to translate them, put them back and run the game? I was planning on doing a language pack with a translation of basically the interface to help people that are no fluent in english. Any thoughts?

With the current packaging of all the content inside the Content.ggpk file, I don't think there's any way you can do that. And if you did manage to alter the data in the ggpk (which I don't recommend) then PackCheck would think it was corrupt because the hashes on the files would no longer match.

Once GGG gets rid of the Content.ggpk concept and flattens it out into a real folder structure, then it might be possible to alter some of the contents without having too many issues (except at patching).

I suppose it would be possible to modify the Content.ggpk as long as you didn't packcheck or patch... maybe... but you'd have to know the format of the ggpk and be able to properly work with the file.

I don't know the details of the GGPK file, but if I had to guess, it would be a basic data file with a filesystem structure of headers, folders, files, etc. The problem with those structures from an outsider point of view is that manipulating the data is usually very difficult because if your content length doesn't match the content length stored inside the file, then you have to allocate more space, and set up new area for your new content to be put.

TL;DR : my answer for you is I don't think it's currently possible for a random person to do.
Right, if you modified the game files it would be breaking the rules.

10. Will you support languages other than English?
Yes, we intend to support other languages once the game has been released.

Just wait for the developers to get to the localization.
