Desync while quicksilver flask active
I need help or suggestions to why I desync a lot while using a quicksilver flask. I died 3 times today due to using the quicksilver to get away from some sparks and as soon as i get through a door way or about 2 seconds in I get rubberbanded back to the sparkers and BAM dead! Any suggestions or graphics settings or something, I am finding this game unplayable in a group also. I have a brand new computer and decent graphics card. Just have been noticing a lot more this past week. Starting to get frustrating and I do not want to have to stop playing this game just for that reason.

damn that is something I did not want to hear ;(. But what about party lag? I can not play in a group of more than 3 people. Any suggestions on graphics or anything?

Graphic wise, you can just turn everything down to a minimum and hope your computer can handle it. If not, you need to upgrade it to run it better.
But desync is a problem with the game and their servers I guess, since the double check they do to verify you character's position is buggy :/ Not much to do for us, but to hope the devs can fix it somehow. |

Desynch is not a computer performance issue. It is a server issue. You could have a $4000 top of the line rig and desynch would still get you

I almost never get desync, and when I do, it's usually me just being very slightly offset from the actual real location that I should be standing.
The fact that I play this game a lot and get very minor desync, very rarely, means there is probably some major deficiencies in your internet connections or computers. |

I know dsync is a game based issue, but JUST to make sure:
I've see that rubberband when quicksilvering. However, the only time I see it is when I'm playing on a poor connection. When I'm on my working one, I can quicksilver regularly. When I'm on that poor connection, I don't dare touch the quicksilver since I'll rubberband so bad it's not even worth it. Yesterday, the rubberbanding was so bad that I couldn't go anywhere no matter what I did. I just logged out. Then when I went back to my regular connection, it was back to normal. Thus my statement: desync is a game matter, I'm sure, but first make sure your connection is clean. Not just fast, but without hiccups (I imagine this game prefers a slow, stable connection to a fast, jerky one and most people won't know how to check for the latter instead of the former) About PC rig: this isn't a matter of speed. I worked at a job which teleworked and required a rather particular connection. The data sent was pure text but the programs went insane the second it went even half a second without a stable line. Explaining to the staff why someone's .5 mbs connection worked perfectly but their 20 meg was unworkable took a good strong lesson on ping and line quality. Assuming this is true (and I may be wrong) I can probably use the same, no really accurate to what happens but good to get the point across, story here: Picture you on the internet as if you are in a car. Your PC is you (as in stronger PC more you can bodybuild..and yes if that sounds like it doesn't make a difference most of the time then you're right when it comes to the internet itself). The speed of your car is your bandwidth, the '20 mbs' business. Your ping is the quality of the road, whether it's strait and smooth or filled with potholes. Playing PoE (I'm suspecting) is like having a delivery of wine bottles balanced on the top of your roof and being told that the owner doesn't care when it gets there, just that it gets there. As such, going 20 miles per hour or 50 doesn't matter so much. However, if you hit one pothole, a wine glass falls and boom, desync. The question is how good that road is, not how fast you can drive or how strong you are. I suspect that the wine glasses are also poorly balanced (the server issues), but while that can give you issues, a bad ping or other connection issues WILL make the situation horrible. And honestly, if it's to the point where you can't use quicksilvers, I don't think it's just the game at that point, so do get the connection quality checked out. (btw, PC rig doesn't create desyncs. I know because mine has issues. What you'll see is a clean run, then a flicker monster or a summon or a spell starts of and FREEZE for a second, then you see everything shift to their new positions, usually with you with a lot less health. Desync is more of a connection issue of some type whether due to you, the game, or both) There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.
This game really isn't for people like that. This game is for people who'll do the same area over and again because they know..., a Mirror can drop anywhere, anytime. - CharanJaydemyr |

It's not just quicksilver flasks either, Leap Slam is also bad in desync.....

I don't even know why any one is even playing this game. It's a cool game but playability is everything. I don't even suffer from dysync as much as a lot do. Never die from it. Just can't stand putting up with it. Quit playing for a couple weeks. Decided to start a different character for a change of pace. Got to level 12 and just quit. Can't stand the constant stuttering.
Not my system so stfu before you start.30 mbps with brand new equipment. Poe is the ONLY game that does this to me. I play racing games problem free. Dysync will obviously never be fixed in this game. GGG has gotten their last dime from me. |
