[Resolved] How to PAUSE the game?!

Ok, I am playing solo - no outside interaction. I hit ESC (which has the RESUME GAME option) - one would *think* that would properly pause the game. However, when I returned a couple minutes later, I found that my character had been killed.
NOT very effective. Is this just a bug that needs to be fixed? Thanks! Mod edit: many of us moderators play solo as well. If we want to idle, we find a safe place in a zone, usually near the entrance, open a portal *but don't take it*. That way, if we are killed by a wandering mob while afk, we can just portal back down from town. That portal will stay open as long as a player is in the zone -- even if that player is dead. If you take a portal from a zone to town, the portal and the zone to which it leads will despawn within 15 minutes if it has no players in it. The game has no official pause function and this is intended. |

" This is an online game. You are connected to a server which is running the game. Your client is merely sending and receiving the server's signals. As such, you cannot pause the game, as you would not be able to pause any other online game (that does not specifically allow for pauses, such as Starcraft or the like). Simple way to put it, you can't. i too fas fo youuuuuuu

There's no pause button. It's not a bug, it's the way that an online game with multiplayer functionality works. You could be playing solo then have a friend come and join your "instance" of the game area. If there was a pause feature, you would be pausing the instance which could involve other players.
