How to Finish Race Objectives

Hi guys I'm the person TeamRocket who finished today's full clear of Normal difficulty Fetid Pool (Jan 7: 1h Solo HC/Jan 6) and I wanted to share some info with the people who are having a hard time trying to complete other race objectives in the ladder race. If you alrdy know what to do than this post is not for you.

To do what I did today you need to train your self in speed runs of certain objects, find something you want to do and time yourself. Last night when I was at the bar with a friend, we were taking a break from PoE and we spoke of our plans for tomorrows ladder race, later that night we got a few runs in to see how fast it could be done and some the following day.

We both chose the Fetid Pool and timed ourselves with a stop watch. From start to finish our runs took between: 8 min to 10+ mins and most of them finishing around 8 min 30 sec using the Shadow class.

How we started is simple. Make a Shadow press the mouse button once to stand him up or leave the game and start a new game (you will be standing up and not wasting time waiting for your character to stand up and ask himself where on gods ass am I?) When we started the timer we picked the weapon up, killed the zombie, got the gem, and as we clicked to move we put the gem in our weapon and proceeded to kill Hillock. An important note for Hillock is that you can expect the 1st kill under 50 sec. By this point Hillock will be the 2nd monster you've killed pick up everything he drops, when in town grab the freezing pulse gem for the reward and get your ass outside and kill big packs of mobs untill your level 2, run your ass to the fetid pool and begin killing everything you see.

Its that simple; however, the reason why I am the person to do it 1st was that I got a rare 1 handed axe from Hillock which won me the day doing the run in about 7 mins. Some notes to keep in mind besides the 1st Hillock kill under 50 sec are BEWARE of the Rhoas, they will charge rape you and worse if you get a bunch of champion/rare Rhoas GG.

I hope this post has helped the community out that are wondering why cant I be the first one to do something like this Always remember gear plays a huge part in race first objectives.

Great tips! Thanks :)
Congrats on managing to clear it first, great achievement.

However, there is one other little detail you didn't include:

People don't usually run fetid pool in races. It serves no purpose. The reward is passive refunds that you won't use when you could be off getting quest reward gems or leveling somewhere more productive. By choosing fetid pool, you gave yourself a good chance of getting there first, but effectively took yourself out of the running for the rest of the race.
This is true but why not get as many rewards as possible? Take this into account that a lot of the times people are not going to be the the winners of the demigod amulet. Being the first to clear the fetid pools and being level 20, you're getting 30 or more orbs.
It might be intelligent from the perspective of trying to get orbs... but most people race to RACE. and like a poster said before... you're basically taking yourself out of the race. So yeah, truth be told, there's really not much competition.

I cleared fairgraves first on a race and still came in third overall.. was my first race too, i've failed since then though :(
