Question about quest rewards.
From what I read/watched there are quest rewards that gives you skill points and effect on your character (max elemental resist?).
My questions are: Can your character miss these rewards permanently? (from what I heard you can) If you skip these quest can you come back and do them later? If you made the wrong choice in such quest can you restart the quest or will you lose those points forever? Also I couldn't find guide for these quest if anyone have a link to a guide I'd appreciate it. Thanks for any info! |

You can't miss them permanently (killing all the bandits is the 4th reward, you get +1 skill point).
Never tried skipping bandits but I've skipped all the other skill point quests at one time or another, you can always come back later for those. No option to choose something else atm, though I remember a dev mentioning that they ***might*** add that option in the future (for a price). IGN: Jerk, Princess

" thanks for the quick response. So in other words if you kill some of the bandits but not all you can come back to it at a later date to finish it? I was under the impression from watching krip's newest video where he briefly mentioned how you most likely won't be killing all the bandits for all 3 difficulties got me confused. |

The bandits quest is part of the main quest progression so you cant skip it and move on to the next difficulty, it needs to be completed if you want to progress. You can wait a little while and farm Act 2/finish other quests, but you will need to eventually complete it to move onto Act 3+.

Quote " What's more valuable in your opinion, Killing all three bandit's all the time or geting Resists each time"
Isn't this person talking about a choice between either kill bandits for skill points or getting resist? I haven't actually played much of the game yet sorry for the confusion. |

For the bandit quest, you need to kill at least two of the three bandit leaders. If you decide not to kill all three for the +1 passive skill point, each of the three bandit leaders offer a different reward for killing the other two. Here are all four possible rewards for the quest.
If you help Kraityn, you get +8 to all elemental resists. If you help Alira, you get +40 mana. If you help Oak, you get +45 life. If you help Eramir (kill all 3 bandits), you get +1 passive skill point Which reward (the passive point, res, mana, or life) you pick depends on what you judge as being the most useful to your particular build. Think of it as an extra skill point you can spend on either one of the three "bandit nodes" or a regular node on the passive tree. When you talk to each of the bandit leaders, you will be given two options, either help him/her or kill him/her. If you choose the help option, as long as you have not yet killed the other two bandits, you can change your mind and come back to kill them. If you have already killed two bandits and you select the help option when you talk to the third bandit, you will receive the reward immediately and will not be able to change your mind. If you select the kill option for any of the bandits, the door of the bandit's camp will be locked and the leader + minions will begin attacking you. I seem to recall that you can still change your mind at this point if you portal out of the instance before actually killing the leader, but I may be wrong. Once you kill one of the leaders, you will not be able to change your mind and get the reward from the leader you killed. However, keep in mind that the bandit quest is repeated in each difficulty level and you can choose a different reward each time you do the quest. Hope this clears up your confusion! " Thanks for the details. Is this the only stat/skill quest that you have to choose? How many quest are there that gives permanent stats? Is it possible to save this decision/quest for later ie finish merciless first and come back to do this quest on normal? From what I seen on the passive map a standard resist element skill is like 6% and there is a cap of 75% can character reach close to the cap with gears + major skills alone? I assume no with the merciless penalty. |

Not possible to save for later you have to finish the bandit quest to get to the next difficulty.

" Yes its the only quest with a stat selection actually, probably changing within some hours ;) " No. You have the quest be done (in any of the 4 possible ways) to activate the Dark Altar, which summons Vaal. Without the Apex from the solved quest you're not be able to get to the next difficulty. But (if the darkness did not discourage you) you can delay all three parts until you reach the latest waypoint of the difficulty, to gain some extra experience/level. You should have the Apex as soon as you climb up the pyramid. " Depends on the class and its passive path: relatively easy if you're able to reach the Diamond Skin cluster near the Marauder and/or the 18% cluster in the middle. (But will need 'some' good gear parts with (multiple) high resists on) invited by timer @ 10.12.2011
