Unable to connect to patching server & Failed to connect to instance

I had no problems while playing 2 days ago. However yesterday as i logged on, the problem started. I have "Unable to connect to patching server" while launching path of exile, but when i manage to bypass this(with multiple tries launching the client), another problem occurs.
When i enter a waypoint (sometimes i can enter the first few waypoint/instance before the error occurs), it takes about 15-20seconds to load and i get send back to the log-in screen with a "Failed to connect to instance". |

Sounds like you might have an issue with your network successfully connecting to the servers.
Do you have all antivirus/firewall/security software disabled? Have you attempted while on a VPN connection? Instructions for setting up and using a free VPN can be found in the Consolidated Technical sticky post. |

I followed the VPN instructions and it worked amazingly. However, my ping is too ridiculous to play the game. Is there anything i can tell my service provider to solve this issue? Thanks for your help and time!

If it works on the VPN but not off it, then something somewhere in your network or ISP is blocking the packets required for Path of Exile.
I'm not really sure if it is ISP, Router, Modem, Firewall, or PC related.. it could really be any of them. In order to narrow it down, you'd have to use a second PC on the same network and see if it has any difference. If it works with a second PC on the same network then it is almost certainly an issue with your own PC. If it doesn't work with a second PC, it's more likely something in the network hardware blocking or the ISP. Still hard to tell for sure. If you can, you can try removing the router from the equation and connecting from your PC directly to the Modem and try again. |

I am having this same issue recently about 2 days already, it was no problem for me before.

I tried playing through my phone's wireless hotspot and there was no issue. Next i tried to reset my router. Initially i though all was well as i could enter 4-5 way points, and the next one, poof... failed to connect to instance.
I don't have another PC therefore not able to try playing on another cpu with the same network. |

Having the same problem here as well. Is there any other way to solve this problem?? Have tried restarting my pc and router. Disabling the anti-virus didnt help either.

Yes, I tried restart pc, restart game client, restart modem, etc. other internet related services are fine, only PoE keep saying failed to connect to instance 50/50 everytime I change zone.

" If it works while on your phone's connection but not otherwise, then your problem is something in the network when not using the phone's connection. This could be the cable or wireless to your router, the router itself, the cable to the modem, the modem itself, or the ISP. You can try eliminating certain pieces by removing them from the equation and testing. If it still doesn't work without the router, then the router is probably not the cause. etc. Good luck. @Others: Please create your own threads and do the same steps as outlined in this thread. Please post your problems clearly and provide supporting data so we can take a look at the issue. |
