Chain + Point Blank

Does point blank work well with chain? If I'm casting power siphon and I strike a monster half a screen away, does the chain strike the monster next to him with the extra damage from point blank, and then chain right back to the first also with the extra damage?

I'm just curious if this is a good combo choice for Power Siphon.

First rule of keystone and support/skill gem of POE:

If things have a way to synergize badly, they will.

The arrow will always count the total travel distance for point blank calculation. If you hit a monster 30 unit from you and chain to a monster 1 unit away from you, the arrow hits the closest monster as if it had travel 60 units.
Likewise, a spectral throw on his way back deal very little damage.

it used to create "a brand new projectile" on chain etc back in open beta but they fixed it. now it counts total distance traveled
