Remove: Arc autoaim (always instant target hit)

Firstly, it's simply not so fun. After awhile, you're tired of just clicking anywhere on screen, and mobs got killed.
Pvp-wise, your opponent can't run, so all you must do is, again, click and evade his attacks. The same with arc totems.
For example, traps or lightning in diablo 2 were decent pvm/pvp skills, not easy to run away from.

I think, that removing autoaim will make using this skill more challenging, interesting, giving some kind of satisfy when you aim and hit opponent/mob.

I second this motion.

Especially considering Piety (first fight) uses it.
Not sure how do-able this is, how would Arc work then? You fire it like any other kind of projectile?

Generally it'll work like chain lightning from diablo 2. But chain lightning had flying speed and no autoaim. In other words, arc is double-time superior.

As for ingame exaples, it'd be like firing from witch's wand with chain effect. It's attack is near instant too. Or like shooting an arrow with chain effect and lightning visuals.
Any of these changes would turn Arc into a projectile, and it would be overpowered if I could put Fork or Mulitiple Projectiles on Arc. More powerful than autoaim. If you've got a problem with Lightning in PvP, get a Fairgrave's Tricorn and laugh because Lightning specs have low crit rates due to shocking.

If you think Arc is overpowered in PvE, well then you're just wrong.

I just thought of how it can be changed without turning into a projectile: right now, when there is no targets, arc hits at point where your cursor is. So, when targets appear, you aim the cursor on enemies, and lightning chain begins. It's not computer, but you aim the skill.
And, when hit, enemy will be namelocked, until you pull off mouse button. So, no need in projectiles.

I haven't said arc is overpowered in a game, i said it's superior to diablo's chain lightning.
The main reason of requested change is the lacking of fun factor, when the computer is doing everything for you, and all you have to do is to click on screen. It's too easy to use skill.

I thought it was retarded how my character is 1-2 screens away and the Arcmages in Barracks can still hit me with Arc, on top of zapping 1/5-1/4 of my health with maxed lightning resists. Arc should be treated like any other projectile and not a ranged melee attack, which is how it's acting.

As said above, arc will be to overpowered being a projectile by combining it with fork, pierce or GMP, LMP.
About someone being owned by arc mages: remember Gloams (burning souls)? They were owning indeed.

The issue is, to get rid of the auto-aim (regardless of how much distance you've ran away from the Arcmage) is to change its nature from a ranged melee attack that always hit barring evasion to a projectile where it can be missed entirely. Changing it into a projectile on the monster's end could be a solution and leave the current Arc for us users as is. Not sure if that's possible though.
