Multi-cursing 4-5 curse
Using curse on hit and arc, I instantly cast 4 curses:
- Assassin's Mark (+38% crit dmg), power charges - Vulnerability (+33% phys dmg) - Elemental Weakness (-36% all elemental resist) - Conductivity / Flammability (-37% fire or lightning resist) Group gets: elemental dmg +0-70% phys dmg + 0-33% Crit dmg + 38% What actually happens There is a trade off: -30k DPS since I could be dual totem EK, high crit build. Probably 1/6 of group DPS? I.e. -16.6% DPS In practice: 1) Not all players do both elemental and phys dmg. Let's say minimum benefit is phys + crit. 2) 2+ players rarely attack the same monsters because newbs. Let's say my actual "group" DPS contribution is 33% dmg versus cursing for phys + crit. 6L Tabula Rasa to 4-curse: - Curse on Hit - Arc - Assassin's Mark (+38% crit dmg), power charges - Vulnerability (+33% phys dmg) - Elemental Weakness (-36% all elemental resist) - Conductivity / Flammability (-37% fire or lightning resist) 5th curse: Manual cast, usually temporal chains (green). 5th curse actually feels like overkill. Blind: Powerful status ailment, not a curse. Stacks. Most curses are blue gems, allowing easy swap outs even without Tabula Rasa. How to get 5 curse max: Doedre's Damning Rings: +2 curse Windscream boots: +1 curse Keystone: Whispers of Doom: +1 curse (Not really necessary, 4 cursing is powerful) Faceroll 1. arc: instacast 4 curses 2. temporal chains: or other fifth 3. Decoy totem (crowd control and survival) 4. Molten Shell (defense) 5. RUN like a witch: Lightning warp Gear: Loose cursing gems: Notice the wand gems, that makes for speed and mobility. I can cross the map quickly, or jump into a cluster of monsters, curse, and jump back out. Build thoughts:
Curse on Hit: 1 action button = four curses. That leaves a lot of other buttons open for summoning, DPSing, auras, etc. I.e. this is extremely flexible, and the gear is cheap. It is also almost entirely based on gear rather than skill points. Anyone can become an instant curse cannon for their group. Why aren't more people doing this? (The benefits of 4 cursing seems immense on paper). Even 3 cursing... Danger: If I am in a group of newbs that do low DPS instead of 30K plus per character, then my build becomes pointless and the contribution is minimal. My goal is to join a guild of competent players that specialize group roles, e.g. (1 tank, 1 auras, 3 DPS, 1 high MF culler.) Thinking forward: My character is obviously incomplete. Some options: • Add mid grade MF culling • Go full support by seeking aura nodes • Seek DPS nodes, and then curse by doing a 'fast gear swap' to a 6L two hander. This would allow me to group with newbs. I presently think my best option is to go for high crit DPS because most other players... they could use some extra DPS. After gearing up a bit more, be able to swap out for culling. Ignore the auras since when guild groups are down, that leaves newbs which just wouldn't work out. Why am I not pure DPS right now? - I put points into a build (high crit, EK) that just doesn't work without elite gear... so I gotta save up about 40 exalts to afford gear + regrets. Right now, what's the best way to add DPS to a group? Go crazy with the curses... I ended up liking this so much that I might go hybrid, but before making any more mistakes with my builds, it's time to start a thread and get some community feedback. Is 4-5 cursing worth it? Did I make a compelling case for going crazy with the curses? curse immune = you are utter useless. and there will be more of these when beyonders are added into the main game.
so its always better to be hybrid dps+curse or aura+curse than pure curser |

its easy to deal with curse immune. swap your curses with Spell echo, faster cast, light pen., blind etc. Arc alone without any passives investment deals significant damage.
from my experience running dual curse, with Arc and summonings, I dont spend much points in curses. only to get whisper of doom, and one point 6% curse effect. the 12% curse effect nodes near scion can be taken too but takes more useless nodes before that. CoH also get 9% curse effect at level 20, and you can be running with that 18% staff for more curse effect. additionally run a few auras too! now surely you dont want to run with just Curses. you can add zombies, totems etc in between. imo, 3 curses is good enough. zombies = meatshield. totems can be dps or defensive. you can use trap if all that is not enough. also, warlord's mark is awesome. that mana leech and life leech applies to all, and you have chance to gain endurance charge. going defensive you can do WM, Enfeeble, temporal Chains so your group can go nuts with very much reduced risk. can always change your curses according to group you are with. |

" joke right? arc sucks without investment. unless u have pledge, dual void wand or mjolnir, LB is better. dont be deceived by arc "muh paper dps" and like above post says, EE >> curse as it works against curse immune mobs and is not affected by curse resistance in bosses. but too bad party needs to be element specific and it cant work for many spells |

" how do you get curse immune enemies anyway? randomly in every places and in maps that clearly say curse immune. if more than half the maps you run is curse immune than maybe multi curse build is not the answer. but if you only get one or two curse immune maps then using Arc as part of your damage dealing skill is not too bad. you still have totem and trap, maybe summons too to help. not the best choice but bear with it for select few cases? surely if you prefer LB then by all means you can use it. |
