While that portal effect is awesome, this "promotion" is the greatest rubbish I've yet seen in PoE (and yes, I was around when they made CI to make chaos damage apply to ES instead of life). I think this is more a promotion for Karma Koin than PoE, as lots of us sheep are now scouring the interwebs for a way to get KK while not living in the supported regions.
And yes, I'm such a sheep, too :-/

Same thing here, just bought a key and invalid.
