prefix and suffix question... lol

I may sound like a noob, but dont hate..
Prefix and Suffix, what is that??
IS that like the NAMES on the items, like top name and bottom..
Ive been trying to search and i cant seem to find a good explanation..

To make it more clear...
Let's say you have magic (blue name) shield, "Thorny Shield of the Inuit". "Thorny" is a prefix that gives it melee reflect damage. "of the Inuit" is a suffix that gives it cold resistance. A magic item can only have one mod listed as a prefix and one mod listed as a suffix.

A rare (yellow name) item can have three prefixes and three suffixes. The prefixes and suffixes don't show up in the name, but you still can only have three mods that are considered prefixes and three that are considered suffixes.
Does anyone know where there is a breakdown of what the Rare Prefix-Suffix mean?

For example: (Directly from items I have)

Glyph Goad Velvet Slippers

1.9 Life Regeneration per sec
12% Increased Energy Shield
9% to Lightning Resist
6% Increased Quality of Items Found
7% Increased Block and Stun Recovery

Glyph Knuckle Deerskin Gloves

+60 to Evasion Rating
26% Increased Evasion Rating
2.9 Life Regeneration per sec
10% Increased Rarity of Items Found
10% Increased Block and Stun Recovery

We can see that there are two stats in common. The "block and stun" and "life regen".
So those two must be the "Glyph" prefix... If I knew what the Rare prefix and suffix possibilities were I would feel more comfortable using an Exalted Orb on a high lvl item.
Name of the rare has nothing to do with its stats, unlike magic (blue) item, where the prefix and suffix appears in the name.

List of affixes is available in the link the guys posted above you

I appreciate your answering my question, however I am having a hard time believing the information given.

On a magic item, the name of the item depends on the prefix and suffix modifications applied to it. For example, a Long Bow with the "Frosted" prefix modification and the "of Impact" modification would be named "Frosted Long Bow of Impact". Rare items have their names randomly generated from a list of rare names and do not follow this principle.

Fact
I have shown you the stats for two different items that do not share the same base item type yet share the same Rare Prefix.

Reasons for scepticism
-These items have five modifiers each and they share two modifiers.
-The Official webpage linked by Deathstar2x neither confirms nor denies my theory.

Theories/Possibilities
-The sixth modifier on each of the above shown item's stats would match showing that the prefix/suffix of rare items do indicate the as yet unknown modifiers.

-The name of the rare items mean absolutely nothing, and it was just a coincidence that the two rare items I have that share the same prefix also share two out of five modifiers.

Conclusion
Both theories are possible and I am still left wanting to know which one is correct.

rare's name means nothing lol
a rare with 6 mod will hv super long name

sorry for my english

Life Regen is a suffix

Life Regeneration
Name Level Stat Value
of the Newt 1 Base Life Regeneration Rate Per Minute 60 to 120
of the Lizard 18 Base Life Regeneration Rate Per Minute 121 to 180
of the Starfish 30 Base Life Regeneration Rate Per Minute 181 to 240
of the Hydra 44 Base Life Regeneration Rate Per Minute 241 to 300
of the Troll 59 Base Life Regeneration Rate Per Minute 301 to 360
of the Phoenix 78 Base Life Regeneration Rate Per Minute 361 to 420

I see here two belts with the same suffix AND they share three modifiers.
* increased max life
* increased cold resistance
* increased flask charges gained

which means that if my theory is correct and the prefix and suffix determine the modifiers given to the item, then a

Rift ____ Chain Belt should have
* life regeneration
* increased max energy shield
* increased flask life recovery rate
