Detailed overview of Diablo 3 vs. Path of Exile
" Record sales or food sales aren't a good analogy for game sales. Record sales for serious pop stars reflect more on the charisma/sexy-ness of the star than the quality of the music (much of hte time). No-one buys games because they wish they were their girlfriend/boyfriend (er, ignoring those big-selling games from Japan which are all about that, of course). Food sales, another common analogy are also misleading - everyone has to eat, so location/proximity, price and widely-acceptable menus are what makes for big food sales. In the end, D3 sells for two reasons - 1) Advertising/brand/market recognition, and 2) Many people think it's a pretty good game. If you insist on comparing musicians, it's more like D3 is the Foo Fighters and PoE is Marilyn Manson or something (albeit I'm showing my age there...). It's not the pile of shit some here inexplicably wish that it was. I like PoE better myself, but I like Dark Age of Camelot better than WoW - doesn't mean DAoC is actually a better game. |

" While a poor analogy at best that also means many people like his music. His new track with Jack U is pretty sick. Don't forget to drink your milk 👌

Having played Diablo 3 since release, and now just getting into PoE...
Things Diablo 3 does better than PoE: -Smoother gameplay -Better story line(all things considered...I really don't like PoE's...) -Better looking gear -Hardcore is actually hardcore... -Heaven vs Hell lore to it which makes it (almost...sorta?) relate-able to anyone. -Choose gender for any class Things that PoE does better than Diablo 3: -Much, much better build diversity -Passive tree...omg -Better environment / look and feel. -More difficult, much more skill needed -Creativity -Free(pay to not look like a scrub) -Seasons are more than just "start from scratch" events. -Events/races Just my comparisons... |

I have to completely disagree with his "endgame" explanation. So D3 wins endgame because POE can sometimes be frustrating? Talk about a casual way of thinking...

" Ya, we're so hardcore!! Alt F4 or bust! Those other guys are such plebs Seriously, do you guys even hear yourselves? Why cant you just like what you like without putting down the other options? Don't forget to drink your milk 👌

" It's still a valid argument if you don't get personally insulted by the therm "casual way of thinking". Which nobody should, since it imply's you have more important stuff to think about. Overcoming frustration (or in this example, lack of player involvement and skill) is one of the pro's to PoE. So it's funny in a sense that it is added as a negative. Which leads to coining the therm "casual way of thinking". Which doesn't inherently hold any positive or negative connotation, that only happens if the person viewing the comment either perceives it as lower/worse then the alternative. Both are games, who gives a hoot about comparing both? If both bring joy to people there mission or goal should be considered successful. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

I left D3 after they nerved it a few weeks after Release. If they ever release D4 i will wait at least 4 weeks before i buy it and see if they nerv it to the ground again.

Endgame in D3 is a complete RNG grind fest till you eyes fall out or fingers fall off.
Sitting there, doing the same Rift over and over again, hoping to get the perfect map, perfect mobs, perfect boss, with the perfect shrines. Pretty sad now that I look back at it. You could go hundreds of Rifts before getting what you needed to place top 10. Or get lucky. Not to mention it takes little brain power once you've got the skill rotations down. Just started POE so we shall see what it holds. Currently 91 doing 80 maps, clearing all but bosses easily. It's all about what you prefer. Hand fed or catch it yourself. In D3 everyone wears the same gear, with the same builds, doing the same thing. It dosen't seem that way here, at least I hope not. This new D3 patch is bringing some new stuff to the table. But in the end it's going to add up to the same old stuff. Same gear, same build, same shit. -Paragon 1400 Diablo 3 player. |

" So it's still like that? God damn. And people always told me grifts are about skill. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" No more skill than facerolling maps 10 lvls below your level indefinitely, but hey Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
