This shield can have 4 sockets correct?

Hi im want to 4 socket this and just want to make sure its actually possible so i don't waste anymore jewelers (used like 40-50 so far)

I still don't understand why one handers should be limited to 3 sockets. It's pretty much obviously not balanced. Yes, you have the same amount of sockets as with a two hander. But 6 sockets on the same item is always better than 6 sockets on two items, in any case.

If it's because daggers and wands (and others) are too small to have 4 sockets, I don't think it's a reasonable reason, it looks like lazy balancing to me. If some one-handers could have 4 sockets, this would be their "special feature", thus adding some item diversity to the game.

I think its because dual-wielding/shields not only gives you block chance, but 2 sets of item mods as well. Allowing more sockets would make it imbalanced imo.

How about: 1hander max 6 socket (like a bow) and Shield no sockets (like a quiver)

Edit: Sorry, didn'T think about dual wielding....that would be op.

But maybe they can make it so that whatever is in the Offhand doesn't have sockets, or the sockets don't work etc.

3 sockets max on 1h/shield is a balancing factor. 2h weapons do more damage but have the least defense. Allowing for a second 6L is one of the ways that they can do more damage.

agreed,wouldn't say better myself.doual weapons or weapon and shield already got tons of bonuses,not only block chance and item mod sets,they got faster attack speed,better pvp skills.

Bow+quivers have two sets of mods, staff has block.

I understand that it's probably a balancing factor with regard to one handers being stronger than two handers. But 6 sockets have a huge potential, I'm not convinced two handers are weak enough to be given such an advantage.

Without speaking about dual wielding vs two-hander balance, my suggestion was to allow some one-handers to have 4 sockets, so that players have more choices. It's still possible to balance these one-handers afterwards.
