Please reinstall DirectX 9, and test the game out a bit.

" The error you have is 99.9% of the time ram related and you running out of it. While you have enough physical ram installed you can't even use 4+ gig of it because you have a 32 bit OS, you have 3.6 gig, the OS is likely to take 1.5 or more depending on what else you have installed and running, leaving you to skirt around the 2 gig required for PoE You might have luck using the -gc 2 command line (see the stickies) But really you would be as well trying to get yourself the 64 bit version of windows to get access the the rest of the ram and allowing you to use higher textures Ancestral Bond.
