POE.trade, Acquisition : Login informations needed ?

Hi all,

Came back in the game 2 weeks ago after a 1 year break and damned !! : I am never online in POE.trade status so I am not contacted for all the items in my shop :-(

I remember that it was not the case 1 year ago (Ok the tool needed 1 hour in order to find you online, but at least it did it).

Now, someone told me to download the Acquisition tool but it seems the tool want your login informations and I am a bit scared about that. So then, I have 2 questions for the community :

1) Is it normal that POE.trade website does'nt show you Offline ? Is there a solution for that ?

2) What do you think about putting your POE login information in Acquisition ? Am I alone to find that unsafe for an external tool ? What you guyz are using today (safe) for selling your stuff ?

P.S. : Yes I know it is something like 5 questions total :-)

It's safe they even provide you with their code / and it's open source so if anyones been fucked it would of been already discovered not to mention the creator is XYZ himself so lol

Yes Acquisition is 3rd party, but they also put up their code for everyone to see.

So it should be safe as long as you download it from their main page. As anyone with programming knowledge could modify the program and recompile it and while they look identical, the tempered ones could be used to steal your account info or worse, if you download it from an unknown source. So download their shit here https://github.com/xyzz/acquisition/releases and not anywhere else.

All 3rd party programs has their own share of risk, even for 3rd party addon website like Curse.com have reported to have their stuff hacked and caused their users to lose their game accounts. That being said Acquisition should be pretty safe tho.

When you go to poe.trade, there is a link to their forum thread at the bottom. Go there and you'll see how to set yourself online if you don't use public tabs and are not on a ladder character.

You don't need to give your password to Acquisition or Procurement. On Acqusisition at the login screen go to the tab called "session id". I know you can use session id to use procurement too but not sure exactly where the option is.
