Random crashes and frame drops after 2.3

Same thing is happening to me, the game is virtually unplayable at this time.

i'm getting that spikes every 5 second now. it is out of hand. they should fix it already.

Okay so after digging around on the internet for awhile I found somewhat of a solution, even though the Dev's say not to use this because it shouldn't be helping this issue. It actually does for me and many others who have been crashing and experiencing FPS drops. Here's a link if you're curious:

For those who just want to give this thing a go:


*Note* It will slow your loading down by a little bit, but I'm perfectly okay with waiting an extra 10sec to load a map. Hope this helps community! Cheers

- Simply Right-click your PoE.exe or shortcut then click Properties
- Under the 'Target' Line in the Shortcut Tab add --nopreload
example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\PathOfExile.exe" --nopreload
- For those who launch the game from Steam: Right-click Path of Exile and under Properties click Set Launch Options. Then simply type --nopreload then click Ok.

Doesnt work for me, i've tried this and --waitforpreload and still getting fps spikes every 1-2 sec.

Hello,
after 2.3 update game often crashes (everyday the same):
1. first open - game crashed when i logged on to spec. character
2. second open - game stopped working for a few second, often crashed
3. third open - game sometimes crashing when i first tryied go to spec. location
4. fourth and so on game randomly crashing without rules

Really annoying...

Well, crashes almost all the time after selecting character the first time. Then, a bit laggy. But the killer is crashing when almost done with Uber lab....truly annoying...out of an offering and however long it took till that point.

The same here!! What's happening? No more Strongboxes and Breach, the freezes all the time makes me die!! please GGG fix it :(

I cannot solve lag and ping spikes, ctd's and so on... i didn't have those when i started to play the game 1 year ago, but now i just get kicked (as a necro with all that cost) 6 times a day and i cannot play without lagging for more than 15 minutes. This game is NOT doable with ctd, you cannot do lab, guardians, end game stuff, hardcore, Animate Weapon builds, 1 door maps and so on. This is just bullshit if you let me... not just because is incredibly frustrating while playing, because if you search for solutions, GGG comments on this or such, you won't find anything. Just "Stash Tabs on sale" and give us $500 and we put your character in shitty maps... its so bad when you find a game that you like but the people that owns it just fk on you and your problems... Just money money
