Ancient Reliquary Key

I got an Ancient Reliquary Key on Merciless difficulty, put it to map device and the map opened. Then I tried to open the chest and oh, it won't open. I've tried on a different character and still no. Don't really feel like losing the key because of a bug.

Forgot to mention, the map was opened on cruel difficulty, map drop was on merciless. Cruel character CAN'T get in the map and merciless character can, but can't open the chest.

I'm have a similar problem.. Had a key drop on Normal a4, popped it in and it said "This char hasn't completed cruel". Switch chars and it let me in the portal, but cant open the chest.

What's the chances that both of you acquired your key whilst playing in a party? Maybe the key was someone elses loot, and got binded to their character rather than yours?
