Not sure what you mean. The jewel does not "convert" damage in the sense that other damage conversion works in this game. If you put it in this socket, you just get 54% increased fire damage instead of 54% increased chaos damage.

The jewel could also be interesting for a character that uses Debeon's Dirge cold damage axe with full fire conversion (e.g. Avatar of Fire + Cold to Fire Support). In the Duelist socket, some of the Axe nodes would also be transformed and useable.
