I mean I like they finally have an official site that copied poe.trade, and during certain times of leagues, its better because it actually knows who is or isn't logged into a specific league/race. But GGG just dropped the ball waiting on this for so long. poe.trade has been around longer, most of us are much more familiar with the layout and specifics. Only the differentiation of league status is the only plus for the official that I used it for last league. My brain is just too hard wired now to type anything but "poe" in google now for searches. How many people are the same and would never think to look for official site only items?

Besides OP, it wouldn't be an option, it would make the official mandatory if even one person clicked the option on really. Because that would make the official site better by default. And that is probably why GGG waited so long to make an official trade site and as I said above, dropped the ball on this. The guy behind poe.trade worked hard for years to keep it up to date and running. GGG can't exactly say "here's the official site so now we are shutting down access (even if voluntary) to our stash tab information so people have to use ours" immediately and expect the community to be happy with how the poe.trade owner got all his hard work copy pasted and drop kicked him to the curb seconds later. They can't even really risk something like that until they make drastic improvements to their own site/trade system that just naturally makes poe.trade obsolete without being insulting.

Finally, you do realize the whisper button from the official site is almost identical to poe.trade's? You will get a copy pasted message from others regardless of which they come from. So for whatever your complaint is about, the point of others here is that it is a pointless suggestion because it is. Reduce the number of people who see your sale items because....? All it seems like is that you are in some convoluted conspiracy mindset that anybody who uses poe.trade to find you is probably up to some rmt shenanigans or something. Can't you just take the fact that GGG has not said poe.trade was illegal to use for years, actively helped the owner improve it with their api changes, and literally copy pasted the site for their own official site as enough evidence that it is essentially an unofficially endorsed extension? Otherwise you are just going to keep coming off as some deluded concern troll complaining for the sake of complaining and not actually have a strong point.

They want to me eat "Pizza" and explaine how amazing it is and anyone stupid is that just want a "Hotdog"....what kind of "blasphemy"...lets burn this Heretic!

I´m a customer and i´m not ok "how the Public stash work". I gave my suggestion and my reason. Company(also GGG) can notice this. They can give statement or not. They can ignore it or not. For this is this Subform here.

Except you are the one to an extent being irational.

Let me lay it out again in facts if you want it that way:

Fact 1: at the core of it all, you would like an option to hide your stuff so it only shows on the official trade.

That is your suggestion pulled apart from your individual disdain of poe.trade being third party. I said it, and others have already agreed with you, that in itself as an option isn't a bad idea however...

Fact 2: poe.xyz, now poe.trade was made first, unofficially endorsed by GGG for a loooooong tine, GGG even provided the means for it to exist in the first place and improved on the API so poe.trade, and other tools, to be better at utilizing the API.

Fact 3: a good number of people among the community respect the crap out of the guy for starting and maintaining poe.trade.

It stands to reason that GGG also respects the owner since they straight up copied his website for the official site.

Now this isn't a straight fact but follow me because it's still a logical argument:

Fact 4: if anybody at all uses the option to hide items from poe.trade, the official trade site becomes better by default.

It has more search option results, so it automatically is better.

Logical conclusion 1: people are then forced to use the official site.

This in itself isn't bad. Who wouldn't want the game using their own trade site. But...

Logical conclusion 2: GGG can't flat out add this 'option' without advanced warning that it was going to happen or they will face backlash from those who respect the work xyz had done so far.

They can't just copy paste his design then inadvertently say "fuck off" and block out his site from functioning. They have to tiptoe carefully if they did decide to do it because making it better with no warning is kind of a slap in the face to the work xyz had done for years, work GGG should have been doing themselves but instead piggybacked somebody who did it for them. Cuz does in fact get donations from people to maintain the website I'm sure, so nobody uses site, site needs to be shut down.


I am not being emotional about this, I'm not blindly defending xyz for his work, just stating that if they add your suggestion, they might as well not make it an option but the default setting to block third party sites from looking at the stash tabs at all. Because optional or not, the community would have to treat it as having the option on is assumed and go to the official site. At the same time, GGG better make a big announcement of it ahead of time and give a huge "thanks xyz for doing all this work (for us) for years but we got it from here on out!" (Giving him some small token payment of some sort may not hurt either)

Then you have no issues, it would be the end of the site, but it would be fine, no complaints.

So no, we aren't trying to get you to think like us, it's simply that the suggestion is pointless. Buying offers from poe trade is no different than the official site and cutting off poe.trade from use is just something GGG may or may not do in the future to make the trading occur "officially" but making it an optional feature is kind of pointless, might as well force it, but be respectful to the work somebody else did for them.

As for the condescending tone you are probably picking up on from others and myself included, that is purely from how you started out sounding like a paranoid conspiracy theorist about this all in the first place by not wanting poe.trade to not have access to your selling information. It's harmless and literally just the official trade site with slightly different copy paste whispers, so your whole reason for wanting the option comes off as being stupid due to paranoia.

Make the suggestion would have been fine on it's own, it's your original reason for suggesting it that makes it rediculous.

the OPs request is just beyond reasoning.

1st) if they would block poe.trade acess it wouldnt improve trading at all. all it would do is lower the chance of selling items since ppl using poe.trade wouldnt see it. it only offers a drawback without any improvement.

2nd) lets put aside that it wouldnt improve anything and talk about the "blocking" itself. poe.trade doesnt even need the date from the game,it would simply have to "scan" PoEs official tradingsite. tehre is absolutly no way to prevent ppl or programs to look at the official site in a free to play and "copy" it.
even when you limit the acess to the official tradesite to loged in ACCs,they can creat a new acc whenever they want since its a free to play game. if you limit the acess in another way,it will either be as simple as creating a new acc or it will lock out real ppl as well.

3rd) the stashtabs have to be put into "public" mode to make them work for trading. public means everyone who goes to the place can look at it,if they want to.
its like asking for an option to not allow ppl to look at you when you are outside on the street on a public (non privat) area.
trying to achieve that is not just a very bad idea,its a total waste of money,time and energie.
