Frost Blade Point Blank?
I don’t have any Pierc support and i don’t use chain, fork or any of that kind of support for my Frost Blade Setup.
As i understand it after looking it up point blank will start from the projectiles Origin and that is not me that is the first target i hit when using frost blade Then lest say the first target i hit is in a group og monsters that are very close to one another, then point blank should give a great damage boost for that kind of clearing? My gem setup: Frost Blade / Increased Crit Chance / Elemental Damage With Attacks / Ice Bite / Multistrike / Ancestral Call. I have a hard time not understanding that point blank don’t help with this setup? I understand if you using chain and that kind of setup because then you will make kills of screen alot. So is my understanding of it all correct? or am i so wrong that i should just shoot my self :p Thanks The Definition of a Radical Psychotic Motherfucker is Me :P Последняя редакция: D1SA3LE#2082. The power of this skill is the clear speed. To benefit from projectiles and wipe screens away. And proj speed is valued with this skill for a reason.
When you pick PB, it will bring any good only when projectiles hit mobs right next to the initial target. At the end you'll have poor single target (it is by default), poor damage at distance respectively lower clear speed, and potential damage gain will be situational and unreliable. Not that you can't or shouldn't, but having PB is mostly inefficient with this skill. P.S. On a side note, ancestral call is a highly unwanted less multiplier in your setup. FB doesn't need it. MS is enough. Improved AS brings identical results in terms of projectile spread/clear speed, but without gimping your damage. Your stated case is correct. Frost Blades, and any other projectile skill, determines Point Blank damage multipliers - positive or negative - from the projectiles' point of origin, which would be the initial target in this case. Against enemies clustered right on top of the initial target you would derive a large damage benefit, yes.
That said? Yes - Frost Blades is usually better served by enhancing its coverage and clearspeed than trying to relentlessly hammer its damage. Ancestral Call works on it but you can't pseudo-stack Ancestral Call hits with Frost Blades the way you can for Molten Strike - you only ever get to hit a target once with ACall'd Blades no matter how far away you are. Multistrike is a better choice for general-purpose builds, though ACall is indeed just fun. Point Blank is not usually considered more useful than stuff like chain (which is super freaking good) or projectile speed for Frost Blades. It's one of my favorite skills, I love how Frost Blades feels to run, but it's hard to really kick up to the tippiest-top tiers of damage. Especially for bossing. Clear is amazing and I like clear builds more than bossers so hey, but...yeah. Give Chain a try, see what you think. She/Her

for map bosses its fine right? They dont have that much life, you can swap out anscest for another red gem like added fire or something and do enough deeps.
For big boss runs like guardians on those builds I tend to do a full gem swap to a single target wildstrike, that thing packs a punch. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
