HOW TO: OPTIMIZE for smooth graphics and loading times (even if you got an SSD!)
" If you're running PoE off an SSD you're barely, if at all, going to see any improvement. |

How can i check if the programs are actually doing anything?
If i check the Ramdisk in the Resource Monitor there is no activity on it at all... |

" Just uninstall FancyCache and Dataram Ramdisk. To do that browse the "uninstall <program>" shortcut in your startmenu. See my stats: http://poestatistics.com/users/wiraqucha/

" Please understand that the Ramdisk serves only one purpose: being a fast drive to serve as L2 cache for another application; namely FancyCache. So, if you like to check something, I recommend the FancyCache built-in Performance Monitor: ![]() There you can look at bunch-a-statistics. See my stats: http://poestatistics.com/users/wiraqucha/

" Thanks. I noticed that already. Compared to your Screen my line is always near zero. So my Pc doesn't have the need to use the L2 Chache? |

" You may just need to use it a bit longer. The way caches work is that they try to determine the files you use most often and keep those. The "Hit Rate" you see means it was able to successfully find the data it needed in the cache. You have to have it running for a while so that it can determine which files are needed most often. Overtime I'd imagine the hit rate will rise. |

I have completed all the steps necessary and now I'm wondering if I have to move my path of exile onto the disk drive R: or will it just run with improved performance now that the folder is created?

If you did it correctly the R:/ partition will only be 128MB, far too small for any modern game. This space is used for caching (RAM) not for actual data storage.
===== Oh, and another question, Sarkoth...if I have 8GB of RAM, what settings would you recommend for a single drive? How about two drives? I'm usually hogging about 4GB between programs and games. The rest is mostly free to be cached. Последняя редакция: Tgump#0941. Время: 23 июн. 2013 г., 07:25:56

" I got 8 Gigs too. I think 2048MB of Cache + 128MB L2 Cache enabled in FancyCache will do good for multiple drives too. You could enlarge Cache to 3072 or more of course. Just try it out and observe if you notice any difference in overall speed. My setup for 8 Gigs is this: ![]() Have fun! See my stats: http://poestatistics.com/users/wiraqucha/

OP, if it doesn't say L2 Cache is enabled, then its not enabled. you should be recommending people to set their ramdisk size to something like 147MB if its an NTFS partition (or making the appropriate adjustment to the cache size in fancy cache)
