Energy Shield Flasks
The point of ES is that it replenishes almost instantly after a few seconds not taking damage. HP does not do that unless you stack regen to the level of an RF build - and then turn off RF. That's why HP has flasks and ES doesn't. Implementing this would once again make ES imbalanced.

Said this before, saying it again.
The problem with GR is that you're trading survivability for survivability. It's the Iron Reflexes of leech nodes; the only difference is IR is even worse, because there is already a set method to get Armour other than turning your nimble sprite into a stalwart tank through some kind of passive tree voodoo. The solution for GR is to have it take a non-survivability leech, and have no effect on life leech whatsoever. Mana leech sounds great, so it should be "Mana Leech applies to Energy Shield instead of Mana." Want to run hybrid life/ES? Good news for you then. Running pure ES? Well, you can still leech ES, it's just a little harder, because you're not life, and you're kinda infringing on life's natural territory. I understand that's a pretty big numerical nerf, so some kind of Mana Leech rate increase, perhaps up to instant, should probably exist as nodes behind GR, which only it can access. If instant, probably have to introduce a drawback. This is where it gets tricky, because we don't want to step all over Vaal Pact's toes. The problem with ZO is very similar; trade one kind of survivability for another. However, I understand why continuous in-combat regeneration is important, and I don't see many other ways of giving it to ES builds. I believe the solution for ZO is to have life regeneration apply to both ES and life, but to utterly remove energy shield cooldown recovery as a drawback. Again, hybrid life/ES benefits. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I think that's one of the balance considerations they decided on when balancing the different defenses. ES is plenty strong, and you can always get life regeneration via Zealot's Oath. Obviously it doesn't work with flasks, but that might be an interesting change in the future.
" Kind of a moot point... I don't see how ES can prevent bleeding damage to your HP unless it somehow interacted with your body physically, so drinking it should have an effect anyway. |

" yeahh ... WHY necro that kind of thread ???? Life and ES are different, ES has already too few drawback, and now add potions to it ? It's even way more ridiculous than it was when the thread started ......... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
