Is DESYNC - really - that much of a problem? Really?
" Read the manifesto... it spells it out pretty clearly. The other games don't have the same abilities that we have in PoE. Can you duck behind cover in D3? Nope. If they target you, they hit you. Torchlight is entirely run on your client. You can cheat. They don't want anyone to cheat on PoE so they run everything on their servers. |

" 1. I have 19 days and 21 hours played on this, my 3rd Nemesis char. I am clearly a loser who spends every waking minute playing this game, and not some casual player(like yourself) who wants things easy. 2. Your spelling and grammar are an abomination. The internet isn't for everyone, and I would recommend that you sir work on "grinding the shit" out of the third grade reading level required to be taken seriously by anyone over the age of 10. | |
" Grammar and Spelling Flame? Rly? Thats...

Impressive! Well done! Only a native English Speaker can be such a Grammar-Nazi!
I dont complain about Crafting, its you. So why you call me a casual? Im playin nearly 25/8. And i never ever begged somewhere for something for free. |

" Yeah. I understand the reasoning for it. (And wish more people did... everytime someone says it's because I have a bad pc I want to face-palm, since I'm fairly sure my current pc is at least as good as theirs could be, if not better. God knows it's new and overpriced). Bust still, a solid reason for desynch doesn't keep it from frustrating me. I've actually not died to desycnh yet, which is surprising given how much I have. But it's always there, and that's grating when I don't have these issues in any other online games. I'd almost say I'd prefer them running things another way to clear up the desynch, but then I remember how awful cheating was in D2, and that's equally ridiculous if not more so. But yeah. That doesn't stop desynch from annoying me a bit every time I get on. For new players/people who just can't deal with it, certain builds certainly more/less from desynch than others. So it's worth keeping that in mind. And it's certainly not game breaking or anything. It's just... very annoying. |

" Thx for clarifying my point. I was under the impression everybody in this thread already acknowledged the existence of desync, and i was pointing out to new players on how to overcome it. And to an older player why he is experiencing it on his own demand. Playing how Charan plays forces desync in the current state. Like i told him in game some times. There is no sense in stating "it happens more in battlefront" when battlefront is not the issue. Many area's in the game have the same maze like narrow patting structure that forces desync on players when utilizing a heavy amount of movement. If you know all these reasons, i suppose you are a masochist, that is all. There is no use in combating current reality, it will change on its own accord and when the time is right. Obviously voices must be uttered to urge GGG to fix/aid the current system. But until then you are actively seeking out desync if you don't follow some specific rules. Once you have this knowledge it is up to you what you do with it. Personally i believe it will only be resolved in the next project of GGG. This is a reasonable mindset. In Path of Exile the only thing that i see in its future is more rubberband and less desync when the code is worked upon and improved. " I would love to see you quote me on how to fix desync, cuse i did not. i gave a sort of manual on how to combat it in its current state, and i don't make excuses for GGG. It is there issue and i am sure they are working/improving upon the current state. they will however never fully resolve it i think. The code won't allow it and they don't desire it. And NO we are not supposed to be developers, we are however supposed to be flexible and accept a challenge i believe when wasting our time on games. Is it in a form of combating desync ore combating reflect, personally i don't give a fuck, i will accept. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" So desync is for you the same challange as a terrible Mod combination on a Enemy? |

desync is a result of adopting and adapting predictive model as a way of mitigate server strain and ease communication payload
it is more or less SOUND idea. but this idea a) has to be properly implemented b) has drawbacks - desync and crap AI (AI cannot be really good/smart/dynamic because it then stops being predictive enough it has NOTHING to do with dupes and cheating. this is short and cheap answer targeted at the gullible and not tech savvy enough ggg tells us that current model allows accuracy/evasion system but any other system allows them too. there are massively popular and successful games with 30 players in session that use similar mechanics (world of tanks) - theyve adopted thin client architecture. ggg told us that it makes gamers feel 'not right' when they experience slight (<50ms) lag - and thats why theyve adopted lag-free (yeah..) desync-prone predictive model. fun fact: most professional FPS games are absolutely smooth and competitive at 150ms ping with pure/no-predict protocols. and these ARE damn faster than poe but the truth is that playing world of tanks with full teams of around 30 people you feel NO LAG at all as long as your ping is less than 80-100ms. and before anyone tells 'but it is a slow game' - play one for one hour and get back to us and repeat it. but what would happen with players with 200ms ping? they lag already AND desync.. it can be done. other games have done it. comparing it to d3 is cheap way out - theyve made technical decisions and implemented them. ggg made technical decision and left it half-baked. combat experience in d3 is unsurpassed. combat experience in poe is.. clunky and desync-prone on topic - desync is a problem. it is something outside player control, something that will get you killed and something that if it kills you - feels really cheap. and for a game with such incredible potential - it is a very sad thing sad because there were so many your sportsmen with 'incredible potential'. most of them never really managed to live up to them |

" Yes, I am saying that yes. /sarcasm off. edit : " I am actually quite happy that you can pretty effectively combat desync. But that is my personal opinion, i am not saying "YEAY love deynsc need some more". Just saying since it is in the game, it would be a tragedy if there was nothing you could do against it. Luckily there are some methods. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes Последняя редакция: Boem#2861. Время: 21 дек. 2013 г., 16:47:03
