"Deal with the Bandits" decision revocable?

I've seen people selling bandits quest items, how do they progress further with their own character after selling the item?

" You can simply re-kill the bandit and gather another quest item. But also GMs have said that miss-clicking and accidently picking the wrong bandit quest is a popular issue and in the future will have a way to re-do it.
